Mother's Day

For holidays, my birthday, anniversary, etc. etc. etc. I can't rely on DH to come up with something to do. He is a wonderful father and husband, but just so last minute with things like that. He works a lot, 2nd shift, so we usually do something in the morning and then it's business as usual the rest of the day which makes me sad.

So this year for Mother's Day (as well as our anniversary and my birthday...all within a month of each other!) I decided I was going to take charge!! :Clap: I don't really need much, I think I want to make sure I have something to do more than anything.

I ordered a Jillian bracelet from Custom Bracelets by Lisa and Mother's Day morning we're going to have breakfast at a cute restaurant on Newbury Street in Boston. After that we're heading over to the common for a swan boat ride. DH will then have to go to work and I think I'll take the girls to the mall after that. Whatever dh does on top of this is a bonus. But I want to make it a special day for the whole day.

Whew, that ended up being longer than I planned. :blush: What are your plans?

We are leaving Friday afternoon and heading to Louisville to stay at my dads place for the entire weekend. We will be going to the Louisville Zoo on Saturday for his Company picnic and then we will be spending part of the day at his house visiting and he wants to take the boys to play putt putt. We are all stoked. This is actually the only Mothers Day that is going to be awesome that I have had.

Jeff has to work, so it will be business as usual around here. I might have our parents over for dinner if I am feeling motivated. Josh did say he was going to pick me a flower. :wub:

We don't usually do anything. My boys make me breakfast in bed,and then I get to hang out with them. Eventually, we head over to my mom's to see my Nana and my mom. That's about it. Dave usually does not do anything and he almost always forgets to buy or make anything for me.

We'll be at church, so a normal day for us for a Sunday. I know we're going out to eat Saturday for lunch, but that's to celebrate FIL's birthday. (it was Monday this week.) So, nothing really. If DH does something extra, then it'll be a surprise. I haven't given him any ideas either. Pretty boring, huh?

It really is pretty cute. The beads were a bit small than I was imagining, but it's still very pretty. I'll take a pic for you!!

My MIL is going to be visiting this weekend, so we also invited DH's aunt (MIL's sister, who lives locally) over for brunch on Sunday. I was thinking of doing smoked salmon, bagels, maybe a couple of breakfast casseroles....and just hanging out and enjoying the kiddos. We thought about going out to brunch, but it's just not much fun when K&K will only sit for 20 minutes max.

And, LOL, I have one of those bracelets -- that I ordered for myself last year. :lol: I got the Rachel, and I love it and wear it nearly every day. Look:

 

I don't think we're doing anything really. Kinda bummed. I don't normally want a big fuss about stuff, but it would be nice to be acknowledged for once. I guess the bigger deal is that it's my mother's Mother's Day and my father's birthday. We're going over there later in the day. I'm sure I'm not getting a present. I know, wah wah poor me.

 

We don't have anything special planned. Dh asked me what I want to do and I said I want breakfast in bed. Thats pretty much all. Maybe if the weather is nice we'll take a long walk with the girls in the afternoon.

I'm going to sleep-in, which now means to about 9 <_< been getting up so early for so long, anything more will just give me a headache the rest of the day. Then we're off to the beach for the day! Something quick for the kids for dinner, baths and in bed, then it's date-night in for DH and me...grilling out, some wine and then a movie :good:

After breakfast we will be off to California Adventure at Disneyland! I got a double strand bracelet similar to that for my first mother's day (it had purple stones for the kids birthstones) and I still have to add a third strand to it!!

Ooooh, I can't wait to find out what it is!! I think the zoo Monday sounds great. You can pretend that's your Mother's Day (since you have to share with mom and MIL).

I think I am about to order myself a Mothers Day gift!!! I love the bracelets! I told dh not to get me anything. When he has tried to get me clothes in the past, it ends up being depressing because it never fits! So this will be my gift!

My mom and sisters are coming to my house for a barbeque.

 

We will go to my parent's house as usual and spend some time over there and then come home, we will all probably nap and then go to my MIL's in the evening like we do every Sunday. Tomorrow my day is busy making their gifts for them!
