Most Useless Products.....

I just thought it might be interesting to find out what your most useless product has been. I was given a hand held formula mixer, that is the worst product, it doesn't mix the formula and it's just another thing to wash!! :wavey:

A used baby wipes warmer, it only heated the bottom wipes. Pointless.

well, we never use the bottle warmer, the microwave is so much easier and quicker. It was good when i was giving bottles of EBM though. Also, my maxi mom twin carrier. I cannot use it. It just falls right off of my shoulders. There is no way for me to adjust it to fit me properly and the girls hate it.. what a waste of $90.

Oh yes and my wipe warmer. Never once used it.

I've found wipe warmers to be pointless. The one I had with Dave cooked his wipes until they were dry and brown. Yuck! Some of the outfits we've gotten over the years have been really obnoxious. Real tuck-in button up church shirts for babies - who thinks of this stuff? All they do is slide up and leave their bellies exposed so you have to tuck over and over again, and it's nearly impossible to button up a squirmy 6 month old. Bleh!

The diaper stackers.. I change diapers all over the house. Also manual breast pumps, they are only used for torture!

I bought an Ultimate Baby Wrap and never used to once. I attempted to get the thing on me, and that was it.
Also, the Bottle Bundles (??) I think was the name, they just didn't work right for us. They look like mini boppy pillows with a loop for the bottle. Never bought a wipe warmer, it just sounded useless.
We also bought crib tents that are still sitting in the closet.

Sleep Positioners. We bought two of them and they only used them twice. They wiggled until they weren't in them anymore. Plus they had gotten so use to sleeping freely while they were in the NICU. We actually like our wipe warmer. Sometimes we have a couple of wipes that will dry out, but most of the time they are fine.

I second the bottle warmer/cooler. My friend swore by it so I picked one up. Didn't use it once!

I do have to say that I love my bottle bundles! Isn't it funny how some people love something and use it all the time and other people hate the same thing. I never used my EZ2 Nurse pillow - hated it - and everyone else swears by theirs!

i LOVE my wipe warmer!! the things i didn't even take out of the closet were the crib bumpers (thankfully got them free with the cribs!) & the diaper stacker. also got their dad a baby bjorn that's only been used a couple of times- mine however, has been used lots when grocery shopping alone!

I would say the Diaper Genie was useless for us. We just put in a plastic grocery bag and out to the trash. Also, the swaddler wraps when they were infants useless to us. However, I loved the sacs you could put them in, our bottle warmers and the wipe warmer (ours did not take that pad thing).

Ditto on Bottle warmer, sleep positioner, Baby Bjorn. Bjorn is great for people smarter than me...I'm so dense that I never remember how to use it nor understand the directions!!

The air flow mesh bumpers...they just pull them off! Baby oil...used when they had dry scalps...never used it since. The huggies washclothes...it's best to wash baby in just water.

We could not have lived without our 2 Itsy -Bitsy Bouncers. OH, my goodness. They are great. Not only are they safe and geat for reflux sleeping---- the spiders go up and down, the cat goes left and right and the mouse goes up out of the frame and hides back down. Then there is a second feature which is baby activated. If you pull down one spider the music will play one part of the itsty bitsy song and stop---unil you pull again and then the next part will play and stop ,etc. Matthew and Amy haven't gotten to that stage yet but I anticipate being able to use them for along time. We have them for 4 months and see no signs of boredom or out growing. And of course I love the fact that they are machine washable and very light weight.

We also love our 5-in -1 carry me near basinettes -with handles, 3 point harnesses, music, natures sounds and a heart beat sound. The hbeat sound still puts M to sleep even if he is not in the bassinette. We keep the 2 bassinettes w/o the stands on the floor in our family room.

One last thing we could not be without is our playtex dropins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    have a nice day

Sadly, our swing, while my other 3 loved the thing, the Twins could really care less.
And that bumbo, both of them hate it, they still hate it and I'm selling it in a rummage sale this weekend. What a waste of money.
Sleep positioner, none of my kids got any benefits from that.
    Hmm, that's about it.

Sorry, sleepy mommy misread the titile of this thread. I went on and on about my itsy bitsy bouncer and how much we thought thry were useful. Oooppppsss

For useless, well for us it was the swaddler blankets. I read the happiest baby on the block book and totally wanted to be up on the swaddling thing since none of our friends have even heard of swadddling. I thought I would b so ahead of the pack. Well Amy would have none of the swaddling at all. She didn't need it. She slept beautifully from day 1. Altough I wish for a miracle blanket or 2 now for my 4 month 10 min cat napper. Matthew liked/ needed to be swaddled to stay asleep for a few weeks bu the hospital rec. blankers worked the best. So I wish I had not wasted $30 each on the miracle blankets, $12 each on the $12 each on 4 swaddle mes, and less $ on the target find swaddler thingies. Now thqat I am at it ---and for any soon to be moms who are reading---believe everyone when thty say don't but a lot of new born clothes. They are not just the cheap relatives and neighbors who you know are penny pinchers or frugal if you are feeling charitable. THEY ARE RIGHT. Especially if you have a washer. I would even skip the NB and really only get 3 months. My liitle ones were 6/2 and 6/7 and went right to 3 months in the blink of an eye. OH and forget "outfits. " You need practical evry day sretchies. Maybe one outfit per size. You won't be going to many formals for a while.

The bumbo tray... ds has chubby legs so if he moved just a little bit, he would push it off... or they would just work themselves off...

Another vote for the wipes warmer here - mine always dried the wipes out. Plus I never changed the kids in the same room all the time so I had to plan ahead and grab wipes from the chaning table.

I HATE my bottle warmer. But I cannot get rid of it!!!! My MIL uses it when she keeps the boys (M-Th). I just make bottles as I go.........AND I use the Formula mixer! I LOVE it!

Funny how some like some things and others like other things!!

    Let's see...

The mesh bumpers (as pp said they just kept taking them down it was a pain in the butt and we put the pretty cushiony ones back on).

The travel carry along baby swings (we never traveled with them and they didn't ever really like them).

The diaper stacker (came with our bedding set and looks pretty but the plastic baby depot that hangs on the side of the changing table was much more practical).

THE PACIFIER THERMOMETER!!! What a freakin waste that was! We could never get them to keep it in their mouth long enough to get their temp (even from the one dd who is a paci addict!).

Infant terry robes. Never used them. We had them wrapped up in the towel and dressed them right away so that item made no sense to me other than for getting a cute picture maybe (which we didn't <_< ).

I'm sure there are more and I'm sure there will be more to add over the years to come!

I love my wipe warmer! I'm surprised it didn't work for so many people, we really like it.

    Most useless products:
Maximom twin carrier (who can carry 2 past the first couple of weeks?) $100 down the drain.

Pack and Play - were born too big for the bassinet (15.5 pounds total at birth - already over the weight limit) and by the time they could play in the bottom, they'd outgrown that too. Didn't use it once.

    Baby oil

Germ Guardian sanitizer - for pacifiers, toys and such. Almost caught my house on fire.

Sleep positioners - babies got too hot in them and we returned them after 3 days.

Crib bumper pads, quilts and pillows - Due to SIDS recommendations we never used the bumper pads or the fancy quilt (wish we'd known about this when we were expecting!). Seems like a huge waste of money now.

I second the sleep positioner and bottle warmer. Also, we purchased a diaper changing pad to put on an old dresser and we've used it maybe a handful of times. We change the boys in their cribs. Luckily, they don't "sprinkle" too often!

I have that and love it, but DH said it's like "Doing Origami with a wet noodle!" lol, so I bought him a Bjorn.

My most useless were the Medela breast pump cleaning wipes. Thought I'd try them out, then realized I'd just paid $3 for 10 baby wipes!
