The boys have had a few mosquito bites already this summer and I believe they have a more severe allergy to them then most do. Brandon gets bites and within 24 hrs they look like a bunch of timy blisters and take forever to heal. Dylan just got bit not even an hr ago and his bite is the size of just about a quater right now. They dont scratch them or anything. My husbands bites get really big but they dont turns into blisters, my bites are just the general reaction and I dont usually know for over 24hrs that i was bit.

I have not called the dr yet but im going to on Monday to see what they think. But in the mean time does anyones DC react this way to bites. I use bug repel but i wont put it on there face. (dylans bit 1 hr ago was on his forehead)

IS there anything I can put on the bites to stop the eaction. I have been using hydrcortisone. I wanted to get the bendryl itch stick or Hylands itch stick but no stores have them in stock right now..

    Thanks in advance

Yes, my Ryan gets a huge reaction to bites. Last summer I even took pictures to bring with me to the doctors to show him how big and red an area got right after the bite. He said some children just have a stronger (allergic) reaction to bites.

I use the benedryl cream on the bites and it seems to help stop the itching. As for helping keep them away from his face, I treat his hat with a spray repellent (something I learned to do during hikes!) .

One of my twin girls has a bad reaction to the bites. LIke you say, big red lump then a blister (which turned a bit of a yellowish/orange color with a clear liquid ozzing out).. then a scab and eventually healed (some tiny scars) I tried to keep her inside before realising how much play she was missing out on and after seeing a doctor who was not concerned I just unfortunatly let her get bitten. The doctor told me that the more they are bitten the more they will gradually become immune to the bties. SHe doesnt seem to be in discomfort from the bites (she is 1yr) and doesnt seem to scratch. I dont know any tips on avoiding the bites that is safe for babies, I was going to investigate some tee tree oil instead of repelant, I am curious if anyone knows if this is a solution??
    good luck.

When the boys heal tthey have scars left behind too. they each have 2 scrars on their face and I dont want them to have scars from Mosquito bites just seems so wrong esp. when they are not scratching or picking at them.

    I hate these stupid bugs!!!!!!

I am allergic to mosquito bites and I think Slaton is, too. I get really big, hard knots where the mosquito bites me and the whole area gets bright red and hot with fever. Our pedi told us to use the maximum strength Benadryl cream (in the blue box, not the pink) on the bites. That really seems to help Slaton.

Nathan has a really bad reaction to bug bites too. His reaction to misquitoes is similar to Misty's, his reaction to ant bites is more like carinaboo.
