Well, Morgan had her ENT apt. on Tuesday. I"m just getting around to posting this b/c the week has been crazy.

Anyway, it went well. He told us that we can go ahead and schedule for tubes at anytime that we feel it's necessary. He didn't say that we "HAD" to b/c when she gets them she isn't completely miserable, doesn't run a fever, eats/sleeps just fine, etc. And, it's not holding back her speech or anything. So, he left the choice up to us. He said we could schedule now or wait and see how the spring goes. So, keeping our fingers crossed, I would like to get her a little closer to 2 years of age before we do this...if that's feasible. So, if she gets another infection anytime here soon (she just got off antibiotics 11 days ago) then we will schedule the surgery. However, we are hoping with the spring weather, it will keep them at bay and get her a little closer to 2 (hoping to avoid getting them early and then her possibly having to have them again).

So, the ball is in our court. I was happy with the apt. The dr. was VERY nice! I have a few friends who also go to him, so he was a good recommendation. More than likely we will just schedule the next time she gets an infection. I don't really want to put it off through 3 or more infections or anything like that. I hated seeing her sick all the time through the winter.

I hope she doesn't have any more ear infections. Spring time is actually a bad infection time though. Those with even the slightest seasonal allergies can start the drainage/ear infection routine. My ENT said the best time of year to avoid having an ear infection is actually middle of summer (then if you have water babies you have to avoid swimmers ear). Both DD and Nathan had horrible times in the spring though.

That was true for us too...

Glad to hear its not something you have to rush into but thats so great that the ball is in your court to do it whenever you feel its necessary!

Glad to hear her appt went well Becky!

Sammy had his tubes done in December, and has been incredibly healthy ever since! We are so pleased with the results so far!

I hope she is able to avoid more infections!

Yep, she had a bad time last spring. Actually the best months when she had NO infections was September through December. Crazy! I'm not expecting much in the "no more infection" department, but we'll see how it goes!

Glad it went well. I would also do the waiting game with spring being here.

I never know how to take it when the choice is up to me. Sometimes a yes or no answer is all I want.

I hope she doesnt need the surgery until later. It will play itself out.

I am hoping for a nice germ and infection free spring...... Yeah right. One never knows though.

I hope you get through Spring too! DS Grant is getting tubes on Thursday and DS Evan had them right before Thanksgiving. DS Evan hasn't had another infection since. We finally broke down with Grant because he has had an ear infection on and off since 2/14. The only thing I worry about is water getting in their ears because they don't understand that they have to put in ear plugs before they dump water over their heads or splash. This summer should prove to be interesting with our lake house. We've never really had them in the lake water and thought this summer we would start. But now with double tubes, we'll see.
