We are 5 months and half the time they still only take 4oz.. most of the time it is 6 oz though and we moved to 6 oz when we were about 4 months.

Ours also still take less than 4 oz at some feedings. One will drink up to 5 oz at one feeding and the other up to 6 oz. They started drinking this much about a month ago.

Are your 1-month olds already drinking 4 oz? If so, I'd say they're doing great!

My twins were about 8 months before they moved up to 5, but they were much smaller eaters compared to my other kids. The way I did it was to add another oz as soon as they started consistently finishing their bottles.

    Happy 1 month!!

Mine went up to 3-4 ounces at 5 weeks. My DS tends to guzzle down 4, DD is lucky if she finishes 3. I've wondered too when to start offering DS more than 4 ounces, there have been times when he is still hungry and will finish the extra ounce his sister leaves behind.

About 6 months old, they started eating 5-6 oz every 3 hours...starting at 8 months, I made the switch to 8 oz bottles every 4 hours.

Me too. Ours were drinking about 2 oz when released from the NICU and we have slowly increased to 5 or 6 oz.

I'm with Becky, at about 8 months they went up to 5 oz., but they never went past 5 oz. at a feeding and got 4 bottles a day.
