More Sensitive To Sun?

I usually have a good tan by the end of the summer despite using liberal amounts of sunscreen. Since I have been pregnant I have noticed that I tan rapidly. I am already so dark that many people have asked me if I have been to the beach! Does anyone know if being pregnant with twins makes you more sensitive to the sun or maybe produce more melanin?

For me, just being pregnant in general makes me much more sun sensitive. I am, thankfully, someone who really doesn't burn, but I get red even after slathering sunscreen when pregnant. I learned this the hard way when I was pregnant with my son and we went to Hawaii. Ouch! Now I know!!

I agree that it's pregnancy in general, not just a twin thing. I always burn way easier when I'm pregnant than when I'm not.

I don't know if there's a fact about this or not, but I certainly was more sensitive when I was pregnant. I tan very easily and rarely burn at all. However, when I was pregnant I burned in no time. After seeing how quickly and badly I burned, I pretty much just avoided the sun during my pregnancy.

It's true that your skin is a lot more sensitive to sun (and everything else) when you're pregnant. Spending a lot of time in the sun significantly increases your chances of getting the "mask of pregnancy." It's not a good time to sunbathe.

I haven't been sun bathing. I've been in the yard with my 2 year old and 3 year old and I've been wearing sunscreen.
