More questions about naked potty training...

I just read about this the other day and have a dew questions... What age did you do naked PT and did you do the 3 months of no undies or diapers after?

A lot of people probably disagree with me, but I believe in the somewhere between 18-24 months stage. All my kiddos were potty trained before age 2, except one, who was mostly but not completely potty trained before 2. My youngest to do it was 16 months when he started. He was just a completely different from the rest child, though.

I did not do no undies for 3 months. I put undies on as soon as they figured out the no undies thing. They had a few accidents when I initially put the undies on, but only for awhile. They did have accidents when sick, or way too distracted at first, but they figured it out.

I've got 2 more quesitions... Did you potty train them at the same time using this technique? and Did your spouse/partner help with the process?

My boys loved being naked so it was just natural that I potty trained them like that .. but I put underwear on them as soon as they "got it" and could keep dry most of the day. Not that they kept them on .. but I tried. They were both trained just before they turned 3 although I trained them at the same time .. one was trained before the other. I have no spouse to help so it was all me. I also didnt keep the potty in the bathroom .. since they werent allowed to go in the by themselves .. I kept it in the kitchen next to their bedroom door where they got to see it every time they entered their room .. I figured if they saw it enough they would be reminded to use it without my having to remind them .. and it worked great !

 

I do naked training when they have showed signs of readiness. They talk about it, take off wet diapers, and they have produced in the potty. With 3 of my kids they were ready at 26 months and one was ready at 2.5. Just this week, my last, Steven was ready and he turned 3 this month. Steven's twin Rboert trained last July because he was ready. WE tried Steven at that time, but he was not and after just 1 day he was back in diapers.

I go naked for about 2 days then just undies for a few days. I would set aside a week to devote to it if you are serious about training.

what? I guess I've missed this in previous threads - can someone fill me in on why no undies - and really for 3 months? that seems like a long time. Sorry! I'm ure this has been discussed lots

I did do it at the same time. One got it quicker than the other did...but I kept him naked most of the time just because he loves being naked. Also, with my "slower" one, I did pants with no underwear for awhile...it was less 'fitting' and felt less like a diaper, plus it was easier to pull just his pants up and down. As for my husband helping...yes, he did if he was around and somebody had to go potty. But I certainly didn't plan it like an activity involving him.
