more clothes to add? eek!

Okay I need help! What types of shirts (and where can you buy them) are the babies supposed to wear until the stump of the umbilical cord falls off? I just realized I dont have any tshirt type things for that!

 

With my first three, they lived in the little newborn t-shirts until their stump fell off. But, with the twins they were in sleepers. I just made sure it wasn't too snug to rub the stump. I also folded down the diaper (some come with a notch cut out) so it wouldn't rub either. I never had issues with the sleepers.

 

I have a bunch of sleepers (thanks to mom) but I don't have many if the t-shirts.

 

I would just use those. The stump falls off within a week or two. The tshirts are so expensive to buy just for the time.

 

I never used T-shirts- it was September and cold! Plus they are swaddled a lot of the time, anyway. Nothing I put on them was too tight, so nothing rubbed. I don't think you need the Tshirts but if you want them, Goodwill often has them for about $1.

 

I would skip the t shirts too. My kids all wore sleepers or onesies and never had a problem.

I used fuzzy sleepers - my boys were December babies, so it was way too cold for t-shirts. I just made sure they were loose fitting, which wasn't a problem since they were pretty small (6lbs and 5lbs, 4oz.).
