for the last few days i have been having regular BH contractions. it doesn't matter what i am doing. yesterday and the day before they were 5-10 minutes apart. the doc wanted me to come in, but then they'd die down at night. i am not sure what to do. can BH contractions cause change without me feeling it? should i be concerned that i am having them so often? i mean, really, i am having *A LOT* of them. what would you do? i am not leaking or spotting. i just cramp sometimes and feel like i have to pee when i get them.
    any advice?

It depends on how long they are.. if they are more than 45 seconds long.. i would go in.. your cervix could be opening. It's better to have the doctor check and make sure rather than to have something happen and then regret it later for not going in!
At 31 weeks i was having contractions every 5 minutes.. Doctor sent me to L&D.. got an iv and a shot.. was sent home in two hours.. The next week when the doctor checked my cervix it was 2cm. Before that my cervix was alway thick and closed! Hope this helps!

I had B&H starting when I was about 23 weeks pg. The doctor had me get a vag. u/s done and we found out I was funneling and my cervix had thinned out. I was placed on bedrest @ 24wks pg. It was suggested to me that when you get these contractions to lay on your side and drink a bunch of water. I mean a LOT!! Keep yourself VERY hydrated as this can cause you to have contractions. If the contractions do not go away within a 1/2 an hour after lying down and drinking a BIG glass of water then you may need to go into or at least call L&D. I would definately let your Dr. know what's happening if you haven't already, he/she should probably check your cervix to make sure that it isn't thinning out.

I had a lot of BH at 24 and 25 weeks. Like you only during the day and definitely more frequent with the more I did. No changes in the cervicx. I am 37 weeks now can't wait to meet them. Good luck, just keep your doctor posted and stay hydrated and don't let your bladder get too full.

You have gotten good advice about drinking water and peeing often, and yes it could change your cervix. It did to me and I had contractions from about 20 weeks on. Some would change things and some wouldn't. I was on bedrest around 25 weeks til 29 at home and then 29 on at the hospital. Hang in there and if ever concerned get it checked out. You know your body better than anyone else. :)

Like the others have said, yes your cervix can change without you knowing. I would be concerned if you were having them that often but it might just be how your body works. I would talk to your doc and make sure you get a criteria for when you should call. Typically it is having between 4-6 an hour although if you normally contract more often than that and no changes are happening that number might increase.

Do you think there is any chance you have a UTI?

the problem is that i *do* have them at night, just not as often. i drink water all of the time. carry it with me. i especially drink it when i am contracting. doesn't help. it doesn't change when i am on my side, either. it just doesn't seem to matter. the only reason i haven't gone in yet is because some times they happen very regularly (definitely more than 4-6 an hour), and sometimes not so regularly. i have had four UTI's this pregnancy, two of which spread to my kidneys. doesn't seem to be the case right now. i don't know...i was supposed to have an appointment tuesday and was waiting for that, but it just got cancelled because ob won't be in. not sure what to do now...i am not that sure about my body this pregnancy. i have bever contracted until about 2-3 weeks before giving birth...yet i have never been pg with twins. it's confusing, that i do know!
