hey ladies:) my Charlotte is close to 9 lbs now from her svelte 5 lbs 5oz when she was born:) I am Bfing her now more that she is bigger and can stay latched on--I use the breast shield for her; and i think that works better for her-her sister is better without it- I think she is doing well; i can see her swallowing and she is content on there for at least 15 mins or so before she zonks out in a milk comatose face covered in milk  so thats good right? i try to burp her after that and put her down or try the other side. I put her down in the crib; she woke up and was crying and rooting-so i put her back to the breast she wouldnt latch on? i tried for a while and was so difficult to latch on after that--i gave up and gave her a bottle and she drank that--She did so well? she has done this a few times i dont understand why? She seems content to Bf? :(

Most babies will drink a bottle if you put it in their mouth. It doesn't mean they are hungry or even want it. Are you opposed to trying a pacifier? Your situation sounds perfect...nursing into a milk-coma! It's the best. The rooting around after is likely just because she wants to suck rather than that she is hungry. Sounds like you're doing great!

Definitly sounds like a need to suck, lots of babies are this way. I would try the paci and if she does not settle after a few mins then you can try nursing her again, but I would NOT offer a bottle, its either booby or paci :p

I was going to suggest the paci too. My first DD was a sucker. She wanted to suck all the time. I did not give her a bottle at that stage so she only sucked on the boob. My mom got the paci out and she has been hooked ever since!
