Okay, now that I'm back from the worst vacation becuase of our nanny, I've fired her and trying to raise 4 on my own. I'm trying to get the twins out of the house, and am wondering what the MOPS programs is all about. Is this "Mother of Preschoolers," for moms only, or do you take the kids and it's one big playgroup?

For those of you that have done this, please educate me about it. Thank you!

I go to MOPS and it's a Christian based program where the moms fellowship and socialize while the kids are taken care of by babysitters. In our MOPS we have different groups that are in charge of breakfast each meeting. We start with prayer and breakfast and then we have a craft or some sort of presentation and lastly we have discussion group questions which usually morphs into just plain girl talk. There are 3 other ladies in my MOPS group that have older twins (school age) but they have been where I am. Our program costs $50 a semester to cover child care and the cost of supplies for crafts but it is WELL worth it. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Ditto the PP. Mine is exactly the same. I go mostly for the chatting with other moms, because crafts really aren't my thing!

Ours is the same, except we pay $20 for the year and do a Nostalgics Photo fundraiser. It's a lot of fun, we get cute pics, and the $20 is much more affordable for young families.
I really enjoy MOPS. You should try it! Although they are usually ending now for the summer and will re-start sometime in the fall, so it will be awhile before you can try.

    I agree with the pp's.

I wanted to add that you should be able to find how many are in your area and to *test* them out first. You may have a better fit with one vs another. This is what I'd been told, I was able to *fit* with the first one I'd tried.

    Enjoy!

    I completely agree!
The first one I went to was not great at all. Now I am in another and it is a much better fit for me.

I love MOPS. We pay $20 per semester and then do a $5 meeting fee each meeting. We do a craft and a guest speaker each meeting but only meet once a month. The kids do a variation of the same craft. Once we had a Stampin Up demonstrator show us how to make cards. The kids stamped cards too. I love that it's Faith based but welcoming to everyone. I just attended a Leadership For Life Sumit and and will be part of our MOPS leadership team in the fall. Check it out and see for yourself that's the best way. Good luck.
