We just got the kids some Moon Sand this weekend. They like playing with it, but it's a mess to clean up. We let them play with it in an old inflatable pool OUTSIDE! DH was considering returning it because it was such a pain. Just wondering what you all thought about it.

hate it, hate it, hate it.

We got it as a gift for their 2nd bday and I already knew it was not worth the bother.

I'm happy to send an unopened box of it to anyone willing to pay for the shipping. ;)

I'm neutral to it. My main problem with it is my kitchen set up, the girls sit on the bench over where the baseboard heat is, so the moon sand gets in the baseboard and is a pain to clean up.

LOL! Same here, and it DID disappear! It was awful, totally not what I expected at all.

Hate it! What a horrible mess. Nadia got some for her birthday last year, and we used it exactly once. It's still sitting in the laundry room somewhere.

I'd much rather just send her outside to play in her sand table, and everyone is happy!

My best friend works in customer relations for the toy company that distributes it. She says it is, hands down, the product they get the most complaints about. She tells people not to buy it....and she works for the company!

I am in the minority here. I like it a lot! But John uses it not the twins and he is really careful with it. :)

My mother in law just got my 3yo girls moon sand. I haven't opened it yet, but based on these responses, I won't be!! Straight to the yard sale pile!

Same here. Tess is the only one that plays with it, she & her friends LOVE it and she is old enough to vacuum it up herself. She knows if she is going to play with it, she has to clean it up, so she does. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for younger kids, though!

My girls got some for their Christmas this past year and we opened up one of them and I don't really like it. It makes a huge mess but my girls loved it. My niece got some also and used it at my moms house and my mom likes it. I figure if the girls want to play with it I will let them play with it outside on our deck and let it dwindle down and when it's gone it's gone.

Outside thing ONLY! I hate it, the kids think it is great...but I hate playdo too, LOL...if they get to play with that stuff it is outside. Otherwise, it is an incentive to go to school (they get playdo in preschool)!
