Monitors?

Hi TS Ladies,

I'll be making my way over to this forum from the expecting forum in just three short weeks (c-section scheduled for 2/8/11)! I've been putting off finishing the nursery until this weekend (subconsciously thinking they'll stay put until their room is ready :tomato. The final item is determining whether or not to buy a new monitor and, if so, video vs. audio-only? We have an audio-only monitor we used for our son, but it's pretty crappy (lots of interference) and my husband HATES it!

Any monitors out there you LOVE or hate? Is a video monitor worth the extra money, especially with two babies?

I have a Sony BabyCall Monitor.

It's wireless so you can carry it around, but the best thing is that it has a voice activated section that kicks in after a second. So it doesn't pick up every little teeny tiny noise that they make, only prolonged noises. It also is 900 MH so it doesn't normally pick up cell phone conversations, plus there are 27 different channels so if you do find one channel doesn't work, another one will. I have never wanted nor needed a video monitor.

 

I used to have a Bebe Sounds Double Video Monitor and LOVED it. I'm kicking myself for selling it. I have the Fisher Price Surround Sound and Lights monitor now which was like $25 and it's a piece of crap. I say go for the video monitor. I wish we had one!

 

We also have the Sony Babycall Monitor and we love it!
