Monday's the Day!

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share the news! Our amnio was done on Thursday (it was a lot easier than I thought it would be...I just didn't watch - I'm a baby about needles... ;-) AND the results for fetal lung maturity came back positive. The babies are ready to be born and they are still growing pretty quickly. We will be close to 37 weeks when the c-section is performed Monday. The u/s "estimate" is Baby A -6lb 12oz and Baby B- 6lb 14oz. We'll see how accurate they are on Monday evening!

Overall, I am very happy about the amnio results, but it is still a little scary to be doing an "elective" procedure since I am not in any major distress or anything. My bp was very high for me last week, but it has come down to 130 (usually I'm around 114-118) and the swelling in my legs is really awful (I can hardly walk when I get out of bed...it looks like I'm riding a horse...quite pathetic. Getting in the pool or taking a bath for 30 minutes are the only ways to make it bearable/walkable.)....however, despite my discomfort, obviously this is not an emergency situation where they must be delivered this early. My DR and Peri both said that since they are sharing a placenta and have grown so quickly, this is an appropriate time to deliver. I trust them, but I'm still a little nervous....

Despite my fears, my husband and I are sooo excited and we are trying to explain what we can to our little guy to help him get ready for the arrival of two baby brothers. He has been sweet about my belly, kissing his brothers, and we're always giving him little jobs to make him a part of it all, BUT...it's not the same as the babies actually being here! It should be interesting!!!

Ok, enough of my rambling, I just wanted to fill you all in and say THANK YOU because it has been such a tremendous help to read the messages you all have shared...especially over the past few weeks when I've been homebound.

Thats great news about the amnio...mine really freaked me out I am glad yours went smoothly!

We have gotten closer, so when we see the babies we'll (hopefully) be able to choose. Thank you!!!
