I'm attending a Mothers of Multiples sale in Eagan, MN in a couple of weeks. My girls will be 9 months old (7 months adjusted). What should I be looking to buy? Do you have suggestions for toys or other equipment that would be good for this age? Also, if you are a MN Mom and planning to attend the sale, please contact me so we can meet. :)

I am not attending, but have in the past. I'd recommend to pay the extra money to become a member so you can shop earlier than the general public. I shopped with the gp & there was not much left. No big equipment. The clothes were pretty picked over.

Good to know. The local tvmotc is having theirs in acouple of weeks and I wasn;t sure if I wanted to spend the xtra $35 to early. But you and my client today have convinved me. I 'm gonna try and get a BOB strooler and Britax carsets. I've been told they inspect everything, so thats its safe. Hope to save some $$$$!

Push toys, play 'tables' (like the ones that have the music stuff and they can pull up on them), blocks, cars, board books (if they aren't too chewed), etc. Those will be great for your kiddos this winter. Oh and if you have storage space, looks for outdoor toys for next spring. We've gotten a bunch of little tykes stuff off craigslist or at thrift stores for a fraction of the price of new.

I would kinda cruise the Toys R Us and Target websites so you are familiar with the prices of big items....also so you can make sure all the pieces are there. That way you wont pass up a good deal!

Good luck and I can't wait til our sale in 3 weeks! YEAH!

    :p

Definitely join so you can go early! Also, if you join you can get in on other club stuff. Our MOT group has an awesome email loop (a Yahoo Group) where people are constantly selling and trading stuff. I've posted a few ISOs for pretty specific items and have always received #s responses.

I would look for (if you don't have already that is) The Leap Frog Learning table. My guys LOVE it! and little ride on toys, table and chair sets. Outdoor big play items. Halloween costumes is another thing I am going to be on the lookout for. Electronic toys, hmmmm I guess anything that you don't already have!

    Happy shopping!

I am selling in that one! I hope to see you there ;)

And to Beth-I would definitely try and become a member if you can before you go. Its worth it because alot the good stuff will be picked through by the members before you get in. Also think ahead if you are not planning on going to the spring sale or if they dont have one...get outside toys for next year.

Ditto the leapfrog table - it was a huge hit in our house and I hope it will be again soon! My DD's fave toys between 1ish and 2ish were ride-ons, push/pull toys, things that played music, and fisher price little people. A sand/water table might be a great thing for next summer!

My sale is coming up soon, and I plan to look for winter coats and maybe shoes and boots; I also always look for "basic" clothing items like jeans, khakis/cords, hoodies, etc.

Oh, and if you don't have baby gates already... the MOM sales are great for picking up fancy gates really cheap!

How do you find out about the sales & how do you become a member? I'm so clueless!

ITA on the leapfrog table. It is a huge hit here and we started using it before they were pulling up without the legs so around 8 months. We also have the Dinosaur roll-a-round and they like it too, esp the roll-a-round balls. All of the laugh and learn stuff is great. We also have a fridge farm that they are really into lately. I want to find a wagon at one of the sales.

    GL getting good deals!

My girls love the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn House and Kitchen. I got the house at the MOM sale for 60% less than the retail and it was in perfect condition. They also love the Leap Frog table.
