Last night was our first night putting the girls in big girl beds. We cleared the room of all furniture, turned the door knobs around so that they couldn't lock us out, and spent the last hour before bed quietly playing in the bed and talking about how excited we were. They went down for the night thirty minutes later than usual and Paul and I settled in, waiting to start the back-to-bed game.

Nothing. They went straight to sleep and slept until we woke them at 6:30! I'm so proud! Let's hope the trend continues!!

Any brags you care to share with us this week?

Wow, way to go! I hope they do this every night. Do they have bedrails for toddler beds on the side? You are giving me hope that this could go well! For now I don't dare to take them out of their cribs - they sleep in sleep sacks, so that helps to keep them in.

That is great! I remember when my girls made the move to toddler beds/big girl beds. Here is a picture of my girls on their 4th night in toddler beds except the slept in the chair.

    Lisa, that is so cute!

Monica, we got the IKEA Minnen bed and it *sort of* has bed rails. I think if you used the IKEA thin mattress the rails would be more effective, but I used twin mattresses that I already had. Here's right before the lights went out last night.

Glad it went well. I saw an idea on Pintrest the other day about putting a pool noodle underneath the sheet at the edge of the bed to act as a bed rail. I thought it was an inexpensive idea that had potential to work. I hope the coming nights continue to go well!

I hope they keep it up! Well done, girls. My boys were what you'd call the "worst case scenario" when it came to bed transitions. Heck, we still go through phases where we can't get them to stay in bed, so count your blessings and enjoy your well deserved victory lap at night!

Wow, they look so cute and so big, in those big beds... I guess they are big girls now, huh :)?

And Lisa, the picture of your girls asleep in the glider is pricless :).

My twins had figured out how to climb in and out of their cribs like it was nothing by the time we switched to regular beds. So when we switched it was no big deal for them. Yay for big girl beds!!

    :yahoo: for your girls Stephanie!

Lisa, I love that pic of your girls sleeping in the chair

The only brag I have right now is that my kids cleaned up spilled milk without me asking them to and they did a pretty darn good job if it too. They were pleased with themselves.

We've found the girls in bed together every night since Thursday. It's pretty cute!

Nancy, I'd give my right arm to have messes cleaned up without asking! That's right up there with winning the lotto for me. ;)
