Last week my twins had a terrible flu virus, it seems as if I've caught it!

How do you keep your kids busy throughout the day whe you're not too well?

Any noise is amplified in my head

Dh has to go work today (Tuesday's being the busiest of the week)!!

I don't have anyone I can call to help me out here...so I'm going to need to be creative...

    Wonderful...not <_<

The bare minimum.. if that means they are entertained by videos today than so be it. :hug99: and I hope you feel better soon.

Make yourself a nest on the floor where they play so you can lay down and rest but still be with them. Make the most of any time you are up for something so you don't have to get up more than necessary. Like get yourself a drink when you change diapers or go to the bathroom. EASY foods! If they must self feed, only give them things that don't make them all slimy and sticky. Better yet, spoon feed them. It's faster and much less mess. I hope you feel better fast!

I have to agree, we are not TV watchers, but if I am terribly sick, we do videos. If it's not too hot, I still take them outside and sit on the deck. Luckily, I have a ten year old, so he can help push them in a swing, or get their cars unstuck, etc., while I sit on the deck. Hope you feel better!!

    Thanks!

I'm fully armed with their Dvd's, but will only employ it as a last resort..the singing on these Dvd's can get one really irritated at times!

I've just put them down for their morning nap & my daughter is of course fighting it with all she's got! She is so tired..her stamina is truly amazing! I hear her moaning & jumping in her crib now..I dare not show my face otherwise she'll truly start yelling & not stop until I pick her up..such a drama queen I have...

Yep, here's to a truly uneventful day

    Thanks for your caring words!

Just go into survival mode and do not let yourself feel bad about it. Whatever you can do to get everyone safely through the day, do it. Take care of yourself as much as you can!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I agree, the bare minimum! A few months ago we had a really strange bug hit us & I got really sick. I don't know what it was, but my fever got up to 104, my vision was blurry & at one point I started having a hard time just breathing. One night it was bad enough I was almost about to have dh take me to the emergency room, but I started breathing better & stayed home.

So while I'm so sick I couldn't even pick up the remote (really, I couldn't!) I'm supposed to take care of 2 toddlers?? My house was a wreck, the tv was on all day, I think they just ate a bag of Doritos all day & possibly colored on the walls. But, we recovered. :)

Find help if you can......otherwise I kind of reverted back to the breastfeeding days. Made a nest like a pp said with the essentials (phone, water, tv remote, snacks, blankets). My kids like to cuddle up in bed with me & watch cartoons sometimes or read books. Hope you're feeling better soon!!
