My kids tend not to finish words thus you get

Cracker= Crack
Bracelet= Brace
Blanket= Blank

 

I use the word "sniglet," but not in that way -- a sniglet is a newly-coined word that meets a need that wasn't being met before. For example: "Furnidents: The indentations left in carpet after moving heavy furniture" (I looked that one up on the internet) It was invented by comedian Rich Hall in the early 80s.

For the type of words you mean, I call them "toddler-speak" or "Amyisms."

 

Oh, toddlerspeak...

Right now we're adding "E" to the end of words. It's not a bike, it's a bikey... that kind of thing. I'm blaming Grandma. They know the correct words because they'll use both and seem to add the "E" simply to annoy their mother. I have to be careful about taking them to see music because they love to watch Mommy's face when they point and squeal, "Look, horn-E"
