Just thought we could share someof the other uses we've discovered for breat milk here - we know how amazing it is for our babies growth and development...

I found that expressed breast milk was the BEST cure for infant eye irritations - I just hand expressed it right into my daughter's eyes and VOILA!! Surprised her a little bit though :p

Also, I refrigerated a small bottle of EBM and used the creamy stuff that rose to the top to treat diaper rash - I spread it on her after cleaning, let it air dry and within an hour or so the rash was improved - it only took about three applications to get rid of the rash entirely. SHe rarely had diaper rash (like most BF babies) but when she did I had the cheapest and most effective cure I have ever used right at my fingertips!

Looking forward to hearing about your discoveries...

My Prius can go 400 miles on 4 oz EBM!

    (Kidding. )

(And even if it could I'd rather save the EBM for the babies! :p )

It's the best nipple cream ever. For me it works better than lanolin, and you don't get all greasy - just rub a little milk around your nipple and let it air dry.

I've also heard the one about eye infections - my sister did that. I've heard that it's good on little cuts & scratches. Apparently it has a natural antibacterial property.

I actually read that you could drop it into babies' noses to help clear up stuffiness! not sure if this is true or not, but my girls are stuffy so i may just have to try it.

I've read about it being given to cancer patients that can't tolerate other food. That's one of the uses for donated/banked BM.

I just read that scientists have discovered stem cells in breastmilk. You don't get THAT in formula!
