Miracle Blanket?

I am thinking of buying a couple of Miracle Blankets ($30 a piece, correct?). A friend said she found them at Wal-Mart for a lot cheaper...I then realized she wasn't talking about THE Miracle Blanket, but a cheaper alternative.

Before I spend the money on the real-deal, I wanted to make sure I wasn't being wasteful; are the cheaper versions as good?? Thanks for any advice :)

Glory...the Miracle Blanket looks complicated. I can only imagine trying to swaddle a half-asleep baby, only to wake him up with all the fiddling?!

I bought a Lullawrap for each of my littles, and I adore them. Easy, easy...though now that they're 12 weeks, they have figured out how to unwrap themselves if they work at it long enough. I figure no big deal, as they likely won't need to be swaddled for much longer?

I think I paid around $18 each at babystyle (on sale, regularly $26 I think). I have pointelle cotton, which I like better than flannel because it has some stretch (makes it easy to get a tight swaddle).

    My two cents!

NO WAY the cheaper versions are not as good!!! I would definitely buy the real deal, we STILL use ours and our babies are 5 months old now! We no longer wrap up their arms but that is still the blanket they sleep with at night. Ours are so worn that they are starting to get holes in them! We have 4 and have really gotten our money's worth out of them!

The miracle blankets are sooo worth it!!! I am actually getting ready to sell mine - let me know if you are interested.
I have 2 lavender with natural border and 2 green with blue border.

These are the ones we got and I love them. I did get some other 'off-brand' ones and they are not nearly as good. I never had a miracle blanket to compare it with though. And these are easy to use too.

I adore the kiddopotamus ones!!! We have three of them for each boy! And yeah, at 12 weeks, my boys still need to be swaddled.

We love our miracle blankets! Well worth every penny! I have some cheaper versions too, but I don't think they work nearly as well.

Miracle blankets are worth it. I have cheaper versions kiddapotamus etc. they are ok but definately not the same.I have about 6 miracle blankets (all bought used) and tried to keep up with the laundry. I didn't discover them til the babies were about 2-3months and I so wish I'd have had them immediately. I am thankful I have them right away for this baby. This for us was a must have.

The miracle blanket saved us for many months. Lily is a bedtime screamer and the minute we put the miracle blankete on her she would calm down. The other ones are fine but it depends on your baby, in my opinion. Mine are very strong willed and from the beginning would wiggle out of all different types of swaddle blanket EXCEPT the miracle blanket ---I LOVE THEM AND WOULD DEFINITLY PAY FOR THEM!

They are SO worth it!! We went through many different brands (including the Kiddpatomus and Halo Sleep Sacks with the swaddle "wings") and although I may have thought they were good at the time, they were nothing compared to the Miracle Blanket. They are fantasic, comfy and actually pretty easy once you figure them out.

    Good Luck!

I still use the kiddopotamus ones with my babies. They're one of the best things we ever got, and not expensive, either.

we had the fleece kiddopotamus ones, and i hardly ever used them, since they are summer babies, they would just sweat rivers in them, so we moved back to the regular flannel receiving blankets from BRU (Koala Baby are longer and easier to wrap, and the wrap stays longer).

I swaddled with a large flannel blanket (42" x 42") and it worked great. I tried a miracle blanket but ended up returning it, the old fashioned way with a square piece of cloth was easier for me.

I think the Miracle Blanket was simple to use, worked wonderfully and was worth every penny.

Mine have been worth every dime!

We now just use them as their 'night time' swaddles and use the Boppy blanket for naps. They are out of the Boppy blankets in just a few minutes though. (We started using those at naps because the Miracle Blankets are getting so worn!)

Like many other PP, we LOVED the Miracle Blankets. We had a few imitations and they just weren't as good with my little Houdini daughter though they worked fine for the lazy boy. :) 4-5 months was pretty much our max though before we weaned to the Halo sleep sacks. My advice would be to have 2 regular Miracle Blankets on hand and be prepared to buy more if needed. With our son we could use a large regular blanket but our daughter always wiggled out of it. They do have high resale value on Ebay.
