I just went to their website last night for the first time to find out some more about this blanket I hear a lot of people talk of on here and was a little shocked by the price. They do give a twins discount which I thought was nice, but still it's pretty pricy.

Right now we're swaddling our little ones in receiving blankets, but because they liked to stretch out their legs usually hang out the bottom and they can kick the blanket up past their knees. Usually their arms stay wrapped up, but if they get mad the arms come flying and one will end up hitting her sister and waking her up. I think we would be willing to make the investment, but I just wanted to hear about some people's experiences using the miracle blanket.

    Thanks!

We love 'em! One of the best investment we've made toward out sleep.

I was just thinking of buying one... Katie loves to be swaddled as long as her hands and arms are free.

By far the BEST investment we made. I was just about to buy a third to back up our two for the middle of the night diaper leaking my son has been doing but we have actually JUST weaned off of the miracle blankets. My babies are 4 mos. old and them miracle blanket is the ONLY thing that allowed us and them to get ANY sleep until now.

If I did it again, I would buy it! They always got about of their receiving blankets. We did have the swaddle me's bt if we ever adjusted it when they were sleepig, the velcro made too much noise and could wake them up.

YOu can get similar velcro swaddling blankets (in cotton jersey, flannel, or fleece) for MUCH cheaper at BabiesRUs. I have the cotton jersey ones and will buy the fleece ones soon for the colder weather. I believe the brand is "kiddepotemus" (sorry about the spelling, they are down in the wash and i'm too lazy to go check...) and they were $9.99 each. They close with strong velcro and work wonders. our 6 week old girls love being in them and feel cozy and safe- and they are sooo much faster to put in then trying to wrap swaddle them with receiving blankets. also, when changing them at night you can just open the bottom and not have to undo their upper body (though i usually take them out completely to breastfeed them).

    YES!!

The two things that I think every new mom needs are a miracle blanket and an exercise ball to bounce your baby on (nothing sooths a crying baby like the ball!)

Absolutely - they are worth every dollar!! We are JUST weaning our 4 months old out of them, but they were a great investment. It took a little work to figure them out at first, so don't get discouraged! My kids would actually smile and close their eyes as we would start to wrap them up for sleep!

We used the Halo Sleep Sacks with the swaddle wings and the Kiddpotamus swaddle me for a few weeks, but they easily could break out of those in time AND the velcro was super noisy and disturbing in the middle of the night!

Best of luck, it's an investment you won't regret!

We have both miracle blankets and Boppy brand swaddle blankets. Either one works for the twins. The Boppy ones are smaller and they will grow out of them before too long. They also have velcro which I am not fond of. The miracle blankets take a longer time to swaddle and are cumbersome for night time diaper changes. But, they both worth equally well at keeping the twins swaddled and happy.

They do have a great return policy so you can always buy them to try. I think they'll accept any return for any reason since most people love the blankets so much.

I just checked out their website, and the blanket looks pretty cool (though expensive).

We were just fine with regular blankets, though. As the babies grew, we used a couple really nice big ones that someone got us from Old Navy - I think they were about 4' square. When they started busting out of those, they were ready to sleep in sleep sacks, and took to them happily.

We used the cheaper ones by Kiddetamus (sp?) from Babies R US. We absolutely loved them. I quickly discovered though that the small size only last about a month before they start escaping. Moving them to the large size stopped it. We swaddled with those until 4 months when the girls started escaping again. I purchased one of the Miracle Blankets and used it once. That twin still got out of it! Since they were both still sleeping through the night after escaping we decided to stop swaddling and never had a problem.

Worth every penny! We used them, stopped, then reintroduced and have JUST gotten out of ours at six months. They really made a difference. I had a few hand me down kiddpotamus' and they busted out of those in seconds. you might be able to find them on ebay or craigslist -in fact, i have a couple that i'd be happy to sell, you can PM me!

Wow they are amazing I was able to find one on craigslist the other night and my one baby sleeps through the night 2 nights now. It is like magic or some huge coincidence. I was trying to get another today but all the stores by me that carry them are out of stock or closed. I was watching ebay and also considered getting them from the website I was just hoping to not have to wait for them to be shipped because I need it tonight. I'd be willing to spend a ridiculous amount of money after everything I heard then seeing it for myself. It is funny though it reminds me of a straight jacket lol. Ps my twins are 7 weeks today I wish I had these from day one but hopefully will get a couple of months use out of them.

I found the kiddopotamus ones from BRU were useless because my twins were small and they SWAM in them...a receiving blanket worked well - they stopped wanting the swaddle after the colic stopped at 3-4 months anyway...

Yes, yes -- BEST things ever. My kids are great sleepers, and swaddling well really contributes to that.

My DD stopped needing it at about 12 weeks, and now my DS is flipping to his tummy and making a tangled mess of the blanket, but we still occasionally swaddle him if he's worked up at night and can't fall asleep -- this puts him out in about two minutes.

We used a blanket (waffle type) from Walmart and they loved them. I had the swaddle blankets from BRU too and those were fine once they were bigger. I say dont spend the money but that is up to you. ;)
