Hi everyone! My husband and I are expecting two boys in Jan, and we have a one bedroom condo. I have talked myself out of the co-sleeper option because it seems like a waste of money as they would probably grow out of it after a few months.

We are thinking of getting two mini-cribs, but the only brand I can find that seems to make them is DaVinci. My trusty Baby Bargains book does not give them a good review.

Does anyone know of any other mini-crib brands? Thanks so much! :)

Go to Walmart.com, which sells the same models as DaVinci under the BabyMod brand name. I have two mini-cribs, and _love_ them. Unfotunately, after a quick search, I didn't find the exact model I have on the site. Definitely spring for the coil mattress, as the foam mattress that comes with the cribs is way too thin (they also sell a 3" foam mattress, but it compresses after not very long, so you may as well go with the higher quality spring mattress from the start, IMO).

    Best of luck!

Not sure. We had a small house and the babies shared our room for 6 months. They were in the co-sleeper for 4.5 months and then shared a crib for 2. Then we moved. Either way, I couldn't have lived without the co-sleeper in the first 5 months. We also used a swing a lot in our room in the beginning (survival mode).

I have the Davinci 'emily' mini-cribs and I LOVE them. They have been wonderful. I don't know how long we will be able to use them for, but at 8.5 months they still have plenty of room :good:
HERE is how they fit in our baby room against one wall, which leaves plenty of room for the changing table & glider :)
I bought 50-coil mattresses for them - THESE ones & they are great. The only problem is that the mattress is difficult to fit sheets to as it is thicker than an average mini-crib mattress.

We have the Annabelle from million dollar baby. I like that they are small, but my boys are really long. I'm worried we are going to need to make them twin beds by Christmas (they'll only be 15 months old). I think it might be dangerous. I regret not getting two full size cribs. They take up more room, but will last much longer and won't have to be made into beds until they are 2.5/3 yrs old. Then we could have gotten bunk beds to save space. Now we'll have two twin beds. You can also just use a pack n' play for a while. My boys slept in theirs together until 4 months. Well, honestly they slept in their car seats the first few months, then the pnp for a month before going into the cribs.

    Good luck with your decision.

Thanks so much. I had been ambivalent about the DaVinci cribs because the minis aren't JPMA certified, but I have heard nothing but good consumer feedback about them.

Thanks again for your advice!!! :D

I have the DaVinci mini-cribs & love them! We needed to get 3 cribs in to 1 room & this was really our only way to accomplish it. I know that they will probably grow out of them before the age of 2 but I will just get toddler beds, probably from IKEA that are close to the floor anyway. For us it was the best solution. I knew that these kids were probably going to be our only children & I really wanted a nice nursery for as little cost as possible. At the time I did not know about Baby Mod from Walmart & if I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I would purchase the cribs from there. If you do end up going w/ a mini crib, I found a site that has incredibly affordable bedding for them that is REALLY CUTE!
