i'm considering buying two mini cribs instead of two full size cribs. is anyone going this route? does anyone have experience with mini cribs? i don't know if the twins will be the same as my older children but my older kids are pretty big, especially my son.

Thankfully my dd did not buy the mini cribs but she did borrow some from a twin mom friend.... they outgrew them within three months... IMO not worth the money as they are nearly the cost of a full size crib... Another option would be pack n plays... and you can use them longer..

I bought two mini cribs but I bought them to use one in my room and and one downstairs. I figured I would use them as bassinets. They worked for the first 9 months until I moved them to the big cribs in there room. I still have the one in my room up I use it when I have to contain the girls/

With my first set of twins, i used a pack and play. It made life alot easier till they were ready for the crib. Then i moved to both in one crib and on up. Its just really not worth all th emoney you would spend on buying multiple cribs. Then with the second set i found a bassinet at a yard sale for like 10 bucks and thats what im using right now till they are ready for the cribs.

We have mini cribs (http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh175/meganguttman/?albumview=slideshow) and so far I'm happy with them. I am getting a little worried about when they get bigger, but we bought ours for just $200 each with the twin bed extensions. We are in the military and never know what size house/apartment we'll be in next so we would not have room for two full size beds when the boys are bigger. We know we will have to move them to twin beds with rails earlier than normal, but we could not have done it any other way. My boys are still able to turn around in the cribs and I have removed the bumper pads for more room. If you have the room, I'd go with the bigger cribs, but it's all what works for you.

It's also nearly impossible to find patterned bedding for the portacrib size mattress. We went with a neutral theme for our bedding and had the decoration on the walls.
