Milk

Seriously, I think we are going to buy a cow!!! I think they are going through about 6 gallons a week, not counting their juice!! How many gallons do you guys buy a week?

 

We go through a gallon every 1 to 1 1/2 days. Its crazy!!!!

We go through 1 1/2-2 gallons a week.

 

My girls aren't huge milk drinkers but they go through 2 gallons a week. At $6 a gallon for Horizon Organic milk we are now looking into getting milk delivered by a local dairy - it is a lot cheaper.

 

gallon to a gallon and a half per week - but they are at grandma's house 2 and a half days a week...

 

3 gallons for the girls and 2 for DH and I per week. Wish we had room for a cow!

 

3-4 gallons per week for the entire family. We only give them 12-15 oz a day so I feel like we are needing less than in the past. Thankfully we have a Trader Joe's nearby so we don't have to pay for organic milk.

Am I giving them too much? They usually drink a sippy cup in the morning w/ breakfast, about 6 oz, then lunch & supper about 4 oz, and then night time bo**le 8 oz.? (I know they still get a bottle, but that is another post for another day <_< )

 

Between me, DS1 and DH we go through about four gallons a week, sometimes more. I've been going through milk like crazy during this pregnancy. I have at least four glasses a day, five if I decide to have Instant Breakfast along with my regular meal.

I can't imagine what it'll be like with four growing boys...$$$$$ :lol:

 

Between our skim milk (3) and the girls' whole milk (3), we use 6 gallons a week.

 

hahahaha lol i say that all the time, just put the cow in the yard, whenever anybody asks, "do u need anything from the store" its alwyas yes a cow!!!lol

about 5-6 gallons a week..

We were told by our ped to limit their intake to no more than 16oz. of milk a day. Some days they drink less some a little more. But I would say on average my two each drink 3-4 oz. at breakfast, 4 oz. at lunch, 5-6 oz. at dinner and about 2 oz. before bed.

 

Maybe you could share a cow with another family or two . . . I seem to recall (from my days at summer camp on a farm) that a single cow gave around 5 gallons a day. Of course there's always butter, and ice cream, and cheese to be made as well.

I keep saying I'd like a goat, because the volume is more manageable. Only problem is I don't like goat's milk.

Between me being pregnant, older ds and dh who drink tons of milk and the twins, we go through a gallon a DAY!!!!!! It is getting ridiculous with how much it costs. I am always looking for milk on sale!!!!

 

We were buying 6 gallons as first but I got medieval on DH and John for drinking too much and now its 4. Still, costs a fortune! :blink:

We to go through about 4 to 5 gallons a week. I think every time I'm in town I pick up 2 gallons.
I've got about 300 cows in my back yard that milk between 8 to 12 gallons per day. Keep drinking milk my husband and I thank you. :drinks:

 

Try buying organic milk, that will break anyone

We go through a 1/2 gallon of organic whole milk every 2-3 days for the kids and 1 gallon a week for Dh and I.
