So I have tried everything I've ever read about increasing my milk supply except for going on a prescription. I feel like I've done it all, extra pumping, oatmeal, nursing teas, nursing tinctures, water etc. Have you come across anything else that has increased your milk supply? I'm breastfeeding my 10 month old exclusively except for some oatmeal baby cereal. He has a lot of food intolerances like his twin brothers. So we've kept his food very basic.

I did have to pump the last few days due to him having the chicken pox and not wanting to eat. I was only pumping a total of 3oz. He eats maybe 5 times a day. So even if he is able to get 4oz that only 20oz a day. Doesn't seem like enough. He's 21lbs and a happy baby.

So is your only concern how nuch you are getting out of the pump? He doesn't seem hungry when he finishes eating and he seems to be gaining weight well? If he has plenty of wet and poopy diapers in addition to the above, it sounds like you are doing great unless I missed something.

That said, I notice a slight bump in output when I drink a gatorade a day. Also how longj have you been pumping? It can take some time for your body to adjust to the pump so if you just started back up, it could take a while for your body to get out as much with the pump as it does for your son.

I agree with PP. If your only concern about your supply comes from how much you're able to pump, step away from the pump!! Your pumping output does NOT equal your supply. The two are entirely unrelated, unless you pump exclusively. If all other signs are that he is happy & healthy then your supply is perfectly fine. :good:

I agree with all of the above and I totally understand how stressful it is to worry that you are not making enough for your babe(s). Mine have been sick and drinking less so I am pumping to try and keep up the demand. One side responds to the pump and I get nothing out of the other but I can get up to 4 oz if I hand express. Have you tried that? Other than that I would say if babe is gaining, has good output and is developing well you are in good shape.
