Ok, help me. I have been using the Lansinoh bags but I lost 2 bags (they busted) this morning while unthawing for a total of 12oz! I am so mad. What so you use to freeze your milk? I have to find something else quickly. Thanks

We had this problem too back when I was freezing my milk. Now I noticed they started including a note in their packages that tells you that their bags aren't made with plasticizers that allow it to stretch a little because they don't want anything bad leeching into the milk. So you have to be extra careful not to strike the bag against anything when it's frozen and also make sure you don't fill them too full. If they are too full, when the milk freezes and expands it will break the bag. The other thing I did was put the bags into a clean container in the refridgerator while they thawed so if one was broken and started to leak I could at least salvage the milk.

I have tried the gerber bags. They don't seem to leak, but I like the double zipper feature on the lansinoh bags the best so just stuck with those and adapted.

I used the Gerber zip top bags (don't fill past the fill line) or 4 oz. Evenflo plastic bottles with the cap tops. Sorry to hear you lost so much milk :(

It happens w/ my bags too. I also put it in a bowl, so that when the ENTIRE bag leaks, I can pour it from the bowl into a bottle. I tried medela bags, they leak also but not as bad. My favorite is the plastic bottles w/ caps too, plus they are reusable so I feel good about that.

I used ice cube trays that are made for freezing milk - I freez the milk in cubes, then transfer the frozen cubes to ziploc freezer bags. This is great because you can thaw only what you need - the cubes are one ounce each.

Lisa, I tried the milk trays, but how do you get the cubes out without thawing the milk on the bottom of the cubes?
