I know this is a litte TMI, but I am miserably constipated...to the point I'm having sharp pains in my side from it.

Has anyone else taken Phillips Milk of Magnesia? Is it pretty safe? I asked the pharmacist at Walgreens and he looked it up and said its fine, but I was just curious if anyone here has taken it.

I usually take Miralax, and that works most of the time, but I am beyond that. It isn't helping now, and I need SOMEthing.

    Help!

My perinatologist has approved Milk of Magnesia to take. And...it should solve your problem. I usually take it before I go to bed and by the next morning you should be fine. Stay close to a bathroom the next day, it is powerful.

Thank you!! I just took some. I couldn't wait till bedtime!! I also ate a few prunes...hope I don't regret that, but it really is that bad! I think I'm impacted or something. (YIKES!)

Thanks, both of you, for your replies!

I took it while pregnant. I also took Senokot, which is a natural laxitive. The doctor recommended it after I started taking an iron supplement, in the hopes that it would keep me regular. I thought that stuff worked really well.

I had Milk of Magnesia cocktails every night for the last few months of my pregnancy- it worked wonders for me! The constipation was a killer- my pregnancy would have been much more enjoyable if I had been "regular"! Definitely take it as often as the bottle recommends. Good luck- I hope you're feeling some relief soon! :)

Im allowed to take Milk of Magnesia or Colace. I take one Colace pill at bed time everynight and it has worked wonders.
