I've had probably 4 migraines (mild ones...thank goodness) in the past week. Is this pregnancy related? I'm sure it could be stress too (I'm starting a 2nd part-time job on Monday...ugh!). How do you get rid of them when laying down in a dark, quiet room is NOT an option? I've been going to McD's and getting an iced coffee or a Mt. Dew (which I HATE) out of the vending machine at work and the caffeine usually knocks is right out and I'm fine again. However, I can't stay hyped on on caffeine either. I don't normally drink much caffeine...very little if any and it has made me really jittery if I drink it during this pregnancy.

So, what do you do for migraine relief?

I am on 2 different prescriptions for mine. Sometimes they work and sometimes not. Wish I had more to offer.

Mine was pregnancy related. I had my first BAD one in my second trimester. My OB prescribed me Fioricet and it worked pretty good. BUT drinking 2-3 Dr. Peppers worked just as well.

A Tim Horton's Iced Cap took it away for me today :)

Sorry to hear about your migraines. I had them last time around- not yet this pregnancy. I also used coffee as a cure. Just one cup of coffee would do it. I just wanted to say that mine went away after the first trimester. i hope yours do soon also.

Sheesh..wish I knew about some of these caffeine remedies when I was on bcp... I got migraines every week...so I finally stopped bcp!!
Anyway, I think it can be a totally normal thing just related to hormones. I know I've had more caffeine this pg than I usually do and haven't noticed having too many migraines... maybe one...

I've had a lot more headaches with this pregnancy, but thankfully not migraines.. I've heard it's hormonal, but some caffeine also helped me, even though I t ypically don't drink much.

They seem to keep lasting longer and longer as the days go on. I had none until last weekend...and now it's been almost every day. It's not so much pain, it's just a dull constant throb that lasts all day and makes my head feel like it's floating. I am going to ask my dr. about it on Tuesday when I go in. I really don't like drinking all the caffeinated drinks and I only like flavored coffees...those just add a bunch of NOT need calories. I gain weight too fast when I'm pregnant anyway, I do'nt need to start adding 300 calories a day with pop...lol!
