So we've decided on James & Jonathan, but i havent a clue what middle names to put with them. DH doesn't even have a middle name, so he is fine going without, but i think it would be odd for our older 2 to have middle names and the twins to not have em. Any suggestions?

    James Michael and Jonathan Matthew
    James Phillip and Jonathan Paul
    James Alexander and Jonathan Andrew
    James Grayson and Jonathan Grant
    James Brody and Jonathan Blake
    James Ethan and Jonathan Edward

You wouldnt have to use the same initials for the middle name. Those are just names I like with the first name

I think middle names are a nice place to give some special meaning to the name, you have a little more leaway to use names you might not consider as fist names. You can due this by honnoring a family member or friend, living or not. Choosing a name from an admirable person you don't know. (for example Abigail Adams was the first biography I ever read, in 4th grade, and I've loved her since.) A name that reflects your cultural heritage (My daughter's middle name Itavii, is a Mixteco name). Or a name related to your religion. Or a place name of a place that is special to DH and you. Something meaningful for the two of you. I know some people are huge sports fans so give their boys names from their favorite sport. Or one women on here had two gun manufature names--what ever is significant to you.
In the case of twins, you can also create a special twin connection by having the names match some how. This could be from very obvious--maybe the same middle name, to very subtle, two names which appear totally different but have the same meaning.

I agree that it's better to put some meaning into the middle names. Before I had my twins, I checked thousands of names for their meanings and origins. I believe that it affects life a lot, so I hope you spend some time on research. Even when I met my partner, I checked the scorpio & scorpio compatibility to understand if we'll get along and build a happy family, and I can tell you that everything worked.

Remember, middle names can have personal significance, such as honoring family members, carrying forward a tradition, or representing something meaningful to you and your partner. Take your time and choose names that resonate with you both and hold a special place in your hearts.
