mfm,peri question

I know this is going to sound dumb, but can someone explain the difference between MFM and peri, are they they same exact thing, just different wording?

Not a dumb question. I am wondering what a peri is as we don't have peri's in Australia (or we do and we call them something different!)

I believe the terms are interchangeable (perinatologist or maternal-fetal-medicine specialist).

 

Ohhh... Yes we do have peri's then.

 

Yep, they were listed under MFM in my insurance but when I called they dr's are perinatologists!
