Hi everyone, I have a question I hope some of you can answer.

Our twins are just over 3 months old and have been sleeping pretty well at night now for about a week and half. Our little boy will sleep about 8 hours most nights !! and our little girl about 6 or so. We are thrilled to pieces about this, but now we are planning to take a short trip to visit family for four days and wonder about screwing up their schedule.

We live in CA and would be driving to AZ, so it's about an 8 hour drive and AZ is also one hour ahead of us.

Do you think this will mess with their sleeping? We would be gone for four days.

I would love some feedback on this issue. Thanks!

Lisa, it might take them a few days to sleep like normal while you are there and then a couple when you get home. MY recommendation is to keep as consistent as possible during the trip. BUT if you can't (because it's not always possible) just do the best you can and start again when you get home. One hour doesn't usually mess things up too badly!!

Have a great trip and please let us know how it all went!!

Can you drive during their night-time sleep? We haven't tried it yet, but that is what everybody keeps telling us best w/little ones. The 'no feeding' part sounds good to me! Stephanie

We took a trip from NC to OH at 4 months and our little ones did great. I didn't see any change in their sleep. We didn't have to deal with the hour time change. We will be traveling from NC to PA on Friday and I hope the babies travel as well this time. Hope you have a nice and safe trip!

We took a 5 hour trip at 6 months. While away, we kept routine and they did fine. They slept in the car or rode quiet so we were real lucky with that. I agree, just try to stay as much on a schedule as possible.

You can try driving at night after their bedtime routine so they sleep through the trip. When you get there, set up the pack n play right away and put them in it. Hopefully, they will go back to sleep for the rest of the night. You could do a feed before putting them back down. For the rest of the trip, they should do fine. Just stick to their bedtime routine. It may also help to put them in the same pack n play or two pack n plays next to each other so they can see one another. That always helps our girls when we travel. We've taken our girls on many trips and their night routine always stays consistent. Naps don't always go well, but we roll with the punches while we are away and go right back to our routine when we get home. HTH!
