Mesh Feeders

Discussion in 'The First Year' started by [email protected], Aug 11, 2007.

    We've started using the mesh feeders and have put in bananas and grapes in them so far. I would love to try berries but the pediatrician said to wait until they were over a year. What else have you put in them? :unknw:

    I would think you could put oranges in them.

    Aren't they messy? I never bought them cause they look really messy

    We used to put bananas, peas, and frozen peaches and pineapple in ours.

    Yes, they are messy but if the kiddos like them, they are worth it! I don't do bananas because I find it highly annoying to clean after, but that's just me. I have done watermelon, necatrines and peaches.

    we've done watermelon, cantelope, and honeydew. i also put ice cubes in them for when they are teething. it seems to help a lot.

    I don't put bananas in there because it's a pain to clean them, but peaches, grapes, canned green beans and crackers work great.

    Oranges may not be a good idea because foods high in acid can cause a nasty butt rash.

    Here is a list of most allergenic (allergy causing) foods:

    * berries
    * chocolate
    * cinnamon
    * citrus fruits (acidic)
    * coconut
    * corn
    * dairy products
    * egg whites
    * mustard
    * nuts
    * peas
    * peanut butter
    * pork
    * shellfish
    * soy
    * strawberries
    * sugar
    * tomatoes
    * wheat
    * yeast

    If you feed your little munchkins something on this list, just make sure and watch them closely for a reaction.

    We just started on them too. My babies love carrots from the can and watermelon.

    So far I have just put watermelon in them. Messy, but they loved it.

    This is prob'ly bad, but we also put those fruit bars made by Edy's. My husband buys them all the time, the kind made w/Splenda though cuz he's diabetic. We just put the tip in to give them a treat once in a while, and ice cube when they are teething also.

    Hi,

    My mom just bought us some of the Munchkin Fresh Food Feeders so now I have questions.

    Any idea's of good things to put in them?

    I know you can put fruits and veggies in them but do they need to be cooked first or can they be raw?

    ETA: Could a Mod please move this to the First Year Forum to since that is where I meant to post it. Thanks.
