I started having longer time in between periods than I did pre-pregancy, so I'd have a pregnancy scare each month. I started taking BCP and that cleared right up though.

I did not, my periods were erratic at best before pregnancy and after I usually expect one every 3 to 4 months and it's been shorter. It might be something you want to double check with your OB/GYN about.

I am so glad you posted this. I gave birth vaginally in August and my periods afterward seemed heavier (which I expected). Over the past month or so, I have been bleeding and spotting non-stop. I'm on day 27 of constant blood and I'm tired of it (literally and physically). I'm on the pill as well, which confuses me since it is supposed to help and not make it worse.

This makes me feel a little better. I never ovulated on my own before the twins, hence 55-60 day cycles before the babies. I stopped breastfeeding in november, and had a normal period in December but nothing since. I had heard that my periods would be more severe after pg. Guess that's not true for everyone.

I've had 2 periods since my c-section 4 months ago and they have been very heavy, but shorter lasting. And my cycle has shortened from 35 days to 29 days. I used to have what I would call "2nd period". Mine would end after 6 days and then 3 days later it would start back up for 4 days or so, lighter the second time. The Dr. had no reason for this. Super annoying!! I'm hoping that my pregnancy has cured me of that.

I think you may want to just check in with your Dr. If you are bleeding that long, there may be a reason. Also anemia might be a concern for you. Other than that, it just sucks being a woman sometimes :friends:

Mine have definitely heavier, but not longer. If they are lasting that long, you might want to talk to your doctor.

I was told that it would be lighter and I would have less cramping. I had the total opposite! Really heavy that first year (and sometimes more than 7 days while on BCP) and bad cramping. Now I'm much lighter and sometimes only lasts 1-3 days but the cramping is still bad.

I agree that you may want to see your doctor if it goes on much longer. I know the type of BCP you take (if you take one) can cause variences too.

My period has changed after every pregnancy. But after my second I had one that went on for about 3 months off and on. When I finally put myself on the priority list and went to the doctor they found a polip (not sure how to spell that!!!). It was a quick day surgery and then gone and no more issues!!! My point is that sometimes we place ourselves at the bottom of the priority list in our homes even below the family pets at times. We should all look after ourselves better and go to the doctors. We are all worth that care. GL I'm sure everything is absolutely fine :)

The first two months mine were really heavy and long! After that they seemed to go back to somewhat normal. Hopefully it will get better.
