Let's welcome Lisa as this week's Meet the Mama. It's time to put her in the spotlight and ask her those questions we've all been wondering about. Here is a little about her:

My name is Lisa I live in Northern, Virginia and I'm 35 years old (will be 36 next week on 10/24). I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome so I had to go to fertility for assistance in getting pregnant. After a miscarriage last year at 7 weeks with IUI, I moved on to IVF and I'm finally pregnant with fraternal twins! They are 8.5 weeks along right now and hopefully doing fine. One is in a smaller sac than the other so I'm seeing a high risk specialist to monitor that situation, but otherwise both twins have good heartbeats and are measuring within normal range. I'm hoping that everything works out because I'd like nothing better than to have twins!

    Hi Lisa! :wavey:

    1. What did you think when you found out you were having twins?

    2. What was your family's reaction to the big news?

    Hi Lisa!!

What are you most excited about with Twins? Scared for?

Do you have any guesses as to what gender they are?

I was THRILLED when I found out I was having twins! My entire life I wanted twins but didn't think it would ever happen. And had I not gone through fertility treatments (IVF) then it probably wouldn't have. So all those years of going to the fertility doctors really paid off because while I would have been happy with one baby, my dream of having twins came true!

My family was estatic to learn about the twins! They knew that b/c IVF was so expensive and time consuming I would probably only go through it once. They knew that ideally, I wanted two children but due to my situation I would probably only have one (unless I got pregnant with twins). So they are over the moon excited for me to be able to have two kids.

I'm most excited just to have two kids... I figured b/c I had to go through IVF if I got pregnant with just one, then that would be my only child. So I'm excited to have two at once and have them share the bond that twins share and have a playmate from day one.

I have a feeling I'm having two boys, though I would really love to have a boy and a girl. But since I'm only 9 weeks pregnant now, it will be a while before I learn the sexes (which I plan to do as soon as we're able)!!

My husband & I love to travel.. since we're older (in our mid 30's) and never had children before, we were able to travel a lot. This year alone (before I was pregnant) we went to Brazil for two weeks and Puerto Rico for a week... as well as local beach trips. We're going to go to NYC for a weekend before Christmas- that's easy because we can drive or take the train there in a few hours. And my husband just won a trip to Naples FL through his work so we'll probably spend a relaxing weekend there very soon - before it's recommended to keep air travel at a minimum.

Yes, of course I've been thinking of names! I like Ryan and Nate for boys. For girls I like Natasha and Riley, among many many more. We change our mind on names constantly though... so next week there could be 4 new names at the top of our list. I'm keeping a list of names I like so when the time comes we can narrow them down.

I forgot to answer the "scared for" question in my earlier response... I'm scared mostly for their health because having twins increases their chances of problems. And right now, I'm scared b/c Baby B is in a smaller gestational sac that Baby A. So I am seeing a high-risk doctor. I go back on Monday, 10/27 to learn the fate of that one.. The good news is that Baby B is of normal size and has a strong hearbeat - just it's sac is smaller. So we'll see. I pray that it's okay... And of course being that I will be 36 when I deliver and have a history of down syndrome in my family, I worry that they could be born unhealthy.

    Hi Lisa!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so excited for you!!

Have you seen any baby things or furniture that you just want for your babies?

Have you had much morning sickness?

Thank you! I'm excited as well1

Well I'm trying not to look too much in to the baby things yet... I feel like I may jinx the pregnancy doing anything like that before the first trimester is over... but once it is I will defintiely be looking in to all that stuff! I'll probably ask a lot of questions about what kinds to get (strollers, cribs, carseats, etc.).

Not sure about breast or bottle feeding yet... I am on the fence. I will probably breast feed, or do a combo of bottle/breast so that my husband can help and so that in public I can just use the bottles.

No morning sickness at all yet which is amazing. I am not even that tired. I almost wish I was!!

We are almost neck and neck with our pregnancies, but my m/s just kicked in this week. Other than being lucky to not have morning sickness how have you been feeling otherwise. I'm finding that it's already difficult to bend down to put on my shoes. LOL. And I get so full so quickly now. What are some of the things that you are experiencing?

Hmmm...well I am a rarity. I have hardly any symptoms. I do get winded now just going up the stairs in my house or doing chores, whereas before pregnancy that wasn't an issue. I'm also showing and most of my pants and jeans are really uncomfortable when I button them around the waist. Some I cannot even wear. I got a belly-band and have been wearing it with my pants. I still feel like it's too early to buy maternity pants. And it gets even worse after I eat, my stomach gets even bigger. I can't imagine that it's all because of twins though... I had Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome after IVF and I think part of it is still the leftover bloating from that. I also get full quickly too... And I have had a dull headache all this week.
