Let's welcome Gina to the spotlight this week. It's time to ask her those questions we've all been wondering about. Here is a little about her:

My name is Gina and my husband is John. We've been married for 5 years and TTC'd for 4 years before going through our first IVF, which was a double success. We're having boy/girl twins- Reagan Leigh & Jason Day. (DH joked at first that we got two for the price of one, but then changed his tune when we bought 2 cribs, the double stroller...lol.)
Not only will these babies be our first, but they'll be the first grandchildren on both sides. Needless to say, there is much excitement over them!
Right now I'm on bedrest for a short cervix with cerclage, but I've been stable and we're hoping to make it to 34 weeks.
We have two 'fur-babies'- Callie, our 7 year old cat, and Daisy, our 10mth old Yorkie-Poo.

    1. Well, thankfully DH got me a laptop when I was admitted to the hospital, so I do a lot on the laptop. Everything from being online (shopping  ) to watching movies and playing games. I also love to read, so I've been doing a lot of reading too. And of course there's always TV. (Too bad I don't watch soaps!)

    2. I haven't craved just one thing throughout. It changes all the time. At the beginning it seemed I craved a lot fruit and veggies, but now it seems I'm craving sweets and carbs more than anything. The two foods that I used to love and can't eat now are ranch dressing and pickles. I hope I'll like those again after the pregnancy!

    Hello!

First I love your daughter's name! Seond, is Jason's middle name a family name? It's cute.

    Hi!

It is a family name- DH's middle name is also Day. (He got it from his grandfather.) To keep the theme, Reagan will have my middle name.

    Hi Gina.

What theme did you do your nursery in?

What do you love the most about being pregnant?

What do you hate about being pregnant?

    Hi!

Since we're having B/G twins we went Cocalo Alphabet Soup because it's neutral. It's really cute and I think they will be able to grow with it.

I love feeling them move! Jason gets the hiccups A LOT and I love watching my belly moving with him. I also love watching my belly stretch and grow everyday. It lets me know they are growing! (I can't see Reagan move because she's more on the bottom of my tummy and well, I can't see over the top of it now! :D )

I hate being on hospital bed rest! I know it could be worse, but I'm going on 10wks now and I'm ready to go home. (Though I'd like the babies to bake a little bit more!)

    Hi!!

    1. Actually my hospital has several antepartum rooms and right now they are all full! I've been here the longest right now, at 10wks, but there are moms here for all sorts of reasons. Because I'm on bedrest I haven't offically met any of the other moms, but the nurses talk for us. I have a preemie book that I bought that some of the other moms have borrowed and we keep tabs on each other through the nurses.

    2. It's not too bad. I have a menu that I'm able to order off of whenever I want. (Well from 7am-7pm anyway.) It has gotten pretty old though. DH and I order out a lot for dinner, which we probably shouldn't do.

    3. I think the most helpful book was Your Pregnancy Week by Week, espeically in the beginning. Lately I've been reading more stuff online than in books. Though my preemie book, Essential Guide to Preemies, is recommended by March of Dimes and has a ton of info. (Not really pregnancy though...)

    4. We have a Camry and a Tundra. I don't think we'll be using the truck for a while! The car seats do fit in the car, but we won't have room for any body else! It'll have to do for now though. Right now we don't have any auto payments and until I go back to work, we won't be able to afford it. And that's not happening for a little while.

    :D

    Thanks!!

    1. I'm most excited just to finally be a mom. I look forward to watching them grow up together and seeing how they are alike and how they are different. I think it's so special that they will always have this bond, and I look forward to being a part of that.

    2. I think I'm apprehensive of things that are typical for a lot first time moms. I'm worried about teaching them all the things they need to know. Everyone tells me babies are stronger than most think, but I'm so scared doing something wrong. I worry about being a good mom.
And I do worry about those first few weeks! I'm so thankful that DH is taking almost 2 months to be home with us, so he'll be a huge help, but I know those first weeks can be really tough!

Have Callie and Daisy reacted at all to your pregnancy? How are you planning to "acclimate" them to your new babies when you all come home?

Callie became a lot more needy after I was pregnant. She always wanted to sleep right next me when I was home or on the couch with me. Daisy on the other hand seemed clueless. But I think that had more to do with how young she still is. Now that I'm in the hospital Daisy is staying at my parents house to make things easier on DH.

Once the babies are born we'll bring home a blanket that smells like the babies and let Callie and Daisy smell those and get used to the scent. We did get a crying baby doll that we used a little before I came to the hospital too. Mostly I think we'll just take it one day at a time. (We did get those crib tents for the cribs just so that Callie can't jump in the cribs.)

That's so wonderful! Paul was home for 3 months after the babies were born and it was great to be able to spend all that time together as a family. It's really nice to have 2 sets of hands too as you get used to the new baby routine. :D

I know there are some guys DH works with who think it's 'weird' that he's taking so much time. I guess most men don't, but after me coming off such a long bedrest, and DH wanting to be home to bond with the babies too, it's we want to do. He's really looking forward to being home with us and talks about how ready he is to meet his babies. Sometimes I wonder how much time I'll get with the babies once they are here! :D I just may be the feeding machine and that's it! lol.

What is your favorite non pregnancy book?

Are there any special traditions you or the grandparents are excited about sharing/passing along to their first grandchildren?

    Hi!

Oh, I love to read so this is hard! I'm really into Nora Roberts, so I'll go with her Donovan Legacy. (I'm cheating, it's three in one!lol)

Christmas is a really big deal for me, it's my favorite time of year. My mom started a tradition with my sister and I where each year we'd pick out a special ornament for that year. When we married and moved to our own homes, we took our ornaments with us for our trees. I want to do the same with the twins. It's always a lot of fun to pick out ornaments every year and we always put so much thought into it.

I love the ornament tradition. I started buying Lenox ornaments each year for the kids. We will have quite the collection after a few years!

    1. I was never on hospital bedrest, do you have a private room? Have you become very friendly with the nurses?

    2. What is your favorite vacation spot?

    Hi!

    1. I do have a private room, which I am so thankful for! And I've become friends with several of the nurses. I'm so lucky in that I have some of the best nurses around. We talk about everything, which I love. We've all really gotten to know each other. It's funny because if another patient calls for one of the nurses and they aren't at the station, the secretary will call my room for them! :D

    2. I love to travel, so anywhere new is fun, but one of my favorite vacations with DH was when we went to Savannah, Ga. It's such a beautiful place and has so much history. I want to go back!
