i've been using these bottles to give my babies formula or my EBM.
could these be causing the gas and fussiness in my little ones? anyone know how these bottles are?

we stocked up on medela bottles because i thought they were supposed to be good. but we found them leaky and the seal was unreliable. the nipples that came with the bottles didn't seat quite right each time so sometimes the bottle would just pour out eveywhere and sometimes it would seal so tight that the babies couldn't suck easily from it.

personally, i wouldn't recommend them to anyone. we switched to glass evenflo bottles and dr. brown nipples and we've been much happier.

I had a few Medela bottles but when I fed the babies with them they would suck the bottles in, if that makes sense to you. So I would have to stop to let the bottle get back to it's right shape. I used them 2 or 3 times and that was it. I didn't like them.

i used the medela bottles for a while with DD. i don't think that they are vented, so yes, i think that could cause some gas problems. i only used them for a while because DD would always collapse the nipple because of the vacuum in the bottle. it stinks that they don't work better because they are definitely $$$..

I never used the Medela bottles, but I went through several other types trying to find one to help with the gas/spitting up problem & never noticed a huge difference in any of them. A lot of people have good results with the Playtex ones with the liners, though.

I use the medela bottles, but use the enfamil slow flo nipples we got from the hospital, not the nipples it came with. I also use the playtex ventaire bottles, but those leak sometimes. I am not sure where else to get teh enfamil slow flo nipples, but my girls like those best. Also, my girls do not have reflux, so not sure if that is why they work for us.

I just used our Medela ones for storage of bm and preferred the Avent bottles. I think we had a set of every kind of bottle (other than Dr. Browns) by the time they were 1. Oh yeah, the boys liked the Nuby ones too b/c that's what their paci was.

I use the medela bottles for pumping and sometimes to feed my DS. I have tried every bottle. My DD who would rather scream if she cant bf has adjusted well to the playtex w/ liners for rare bottle feedings. My DS will take anything.

We didn't like the medela bottles for feeding after investing in too many. I have one with colic and started with playtex ventaires and the playtex with liners for trips out (very easy). These were okay, but then got Dr. Brown's and loved them, but there are multiple parts to wash and deal with. A friend gave us 9 Avent bottles (they are pretty pricey and I didn't want to buy them) and I have to say we LOVE them the best and they have been the best for our situation. Back-ups are Dr. Brown's (only downfall is the parts - we love them for feeding also - the wide-neck nipple kind) and now I do use the medela's to pump into and store breastmilk.

After the first couple months, that was all we used. I'd just pump right into the medela bottles (also the ones that came with the breast pump).

We used Dr. Brown's for the first couple months; in the end it was probably a waste of money, but my guys never had any major eating problems.
