Measuring software

Hey all, First post here! I am a technician manager for a solar company and am trying to streamline our survey process. We seem to be having issues with guys getting correct measurements and doing a proper drawing. We currently use EagleView but we limit the use of it with blurry pictures, steepness, and trees. So, to get to my question, is there a program that our techs can use to measure the roof that makes a drawing while they measure? Something where they can take a measuring wheel or stick or something and go along all roof lines, get measurements and drawing be made while they are going along? I know this is a far fetch question but just curious. Thanks!!

 

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I just want to ask—has anyone used SumoQuote along with their measuring software? I've been wondering if pairing it up with something like RoofSnap or EagleView helps tighten up the sales process. Would love to hear how people are combining tools now, especially folks doing both residential and light commercial.

 

I’ve been using ruler.onl for quick takeoffs right off blueprints or screenshots. It’s simple—just set the scale and draw lines to measure. I like that I don’t need to download anything, just open it in the browser and go. Helps a lot when I’m checking dimensions on the fly or when I don’t have access to more complex tools.
