Just when I thought this kid was going to be a whopper... I've felt huge lately. And at my previous appointment I had gained 5lbs in two weeks! Well, I went to my midwife yesterday, and I hadn't gained anything at all. Then she checked my fundal height and it came in at 28cm...I'm 32 weeks. Previously it had measured 30cm at 30 weeks, right on target. So what is up with that??? We're thinking maybe it was just the baby's position? But anyone else have that happen?? She checked it twice.

At my last appointment I lost 2lbs in 2weeks and measured smaller than my actual week and this was after gaining 6lbs in 2weeks and measuring a week ahead the previous appointment. I think I has to do with the time of day you go (weight wise) aka if you just ate breakfast or lunch or had very little and also the position of the baby. I wouldn't be too concerned. Good Luck at your next app and the arrival of baby #4.

Well, not exactly but with Sam I measured "on target" and weight estimates were for an "average" size baby based on her feeling (not u/s). He was 10 lbs 4oz. Becca was also much bigger than "predicted" at 10lbs13oz. I tend to "hide" my babies pretty well. They are always bigger than expected. So, it's not exactly your situation but maybe something similar??

Boy am I glad my OB doesn't tell me that info so I don't need to worry...she says the baby is growing well...I go in again on Wed and I'm hoping she'll confirm that he/she has flipped head down. From rubbing my belly, I don't think the fundal "height" has changed much in the last 3-4 weeks, although I'm sticking further out and the skin is really starting to stretch (and itch).

My fundal hieght has been behind my weeks for my last three appointments, but ultrasound size estimates are right on track or ahead. I think fundal height changes with the babies position, especially in us twin mothers as our adomends are extra "roomy". (well mine anyway) Everyone comments on how huge I am. This weekend we ran into a friend of DH's from high school who is pregnant and I was shocked when she said she's due next week! My bump is way bigger than her's and I've got 8 weeks to go.
