Hi all, My babies just turned one and I still have them on a "baby" schedule instead of a "toddler" schedule. They are also still on formula since I haven't seen the ped yet so I haven't tried milk. I will be going tomorrow for their 1 year checkup.

    Here is their current schedule:
    Bottle: 7am Breakfast: 8am Bottle: 11am Lunch: Noon Bottle: 3pm Dinner: 4pm Bottle: 7pm

I know I need to switch to sippies but I am reading most people just give two a day. However they are so hungry by 11am and want their next bottle. Can some of you tell me how you made the change in their schedules and how did you hold them off between mealtimes? Or just post your (around) 1 year olds schedules? Also, what did you do for snacks between meals if you did do snacks?

    Thanks
    Mona

we did LOTS of snacks, still do infact, a morning one and an afternoon one when they wake up.

Mine are older but for snacks it's always different; graham crackers, cheerois, Goldfish, yogurt, etc. . . .

    What is their sleep schedule.

To integrate sippies, we just started letting them have one all day to try adn sip on and at mealtimes.
When around 15 months they still weren't really interested I did sippies and got rid of bottles cold turkey. A this point, it only takes a few days! :D

As I took a bottle away, I added a snack. With each meal and snack, they got a sippy with cold formula (until 12 months, then they got a sippy with cold milk).

    3 bottle schedule (9-11 months):
    7:30am breakfast
    10:30am bottle
    12:30pm lunch
    3:30pm bottle
    6:00pm dinner
    7:00pm bottle

    2 bottle schedule (11 months):
    7:30am breakfast
    10:30am bottle
    12:30pm lunch
    4:00pm snack
    6:00pm dinner
    7:00pm bottle

Now we are at this schedule (started when they turned 12 months), with that bedtime bottle to be gone by (hopefully) end of week. The only reason they still have it is because I am out of town and didn't want to take it away until I got back.
    7:30am breakfast
    10:30am snack
    12:30pm lunch
    4:00pm snack
    6:00pm dinner
7:00pm bottle (one just takes about 2 ounces, the other takes 7-8 ounces)

My strategy with weaning from the bottle/formula was that they'd never get milk in the bottle, only formula. So once the bottle's gone so is the formula. Oh, and their snacks are usually some form of protein and fruit (ie. cheese, turkey bologna, yogurt).

They pretty much sleep 7pm-7am, sometime they wake, but not for milk. Do you give them a sippy first thing in the morning? When they wake up all they want is a bottle, they are screaming for one. I'm not sure how to cut that one out.

Since they wake up very hungry, it's probably that one that's best removed first.
If they're starving, they'll want that milk out of the sippy = more of an incentive.

Also, you wrote they have a bottle at 7pm and then you wrote they go to bed at 7pm.
I'd try not to give that bedtime one anymore, or start giving it as water., It's very bad for their teeth to drink milk and then go to sleep.

Is everything working for you the way it is? If so, I'd leave it and just start trying to transition them to sippies.

Here's our schedule at 14 months, but it hasn't changed since they turned one. My girls were done with bottles at about 10 1/2 months, so we've been doing all sippy cups since then. When we were making the transition I would give them 4-6 oz of formula in the sippy cup, and whatever they didn't finish went into a bottle after the meal for them to finish. Once they started drinking at least half of the formula out of the sippy cup I stopped giving them bottles afterward.

I give them at least 4 sippy cups a day, sometimes more - one with each meal and one with their afternoon snack. Sometimes they want a little something before they go down for the morning nap, and if they do I also give them some milk in a sippy cup.

When they're acting really hungry fill them up with food instead of formula/milk. For snacks I try to give them something substantial, partly because I want them to wait to eat dinner until my dh gets home around 5:30. My girls really like yogurt, cheese cubes, animal crackers and goldfish crackers. Sometimes I'll give them fruit for a snack too, like a banana.

7/7:30 wakeup, breakfast right away - sometimes if they're crabby I give them a sippy with milk while I make the food

    9:30/10 to 10:30/11 nap

    12/12:30 lunch

    1:30/2 to 3/3:30 nap

3/3:30 snack (as soon as they wake up from their nap)

    5:30 dinner

    7 bedtime

    Hope that helps :)

I did away with bottles at 13 months. At that point, we were down to only the morning and evening bottle. Mine also wake up starving, so I switched from doing a bottle, dress for the day, play, then breakfast; to dress them and immediately to breakfast. I give them a sippy of milk and some cheerios while I get breakfast ready.
Incidentally, mine are still on the same basic schedule, except now there is a morning snack and they are at one nap at 12:30, lunch moved up to 11:00. Yes, they still get a sippy of milk before bedtime, but we brush their teeth after they drink it.

Our schedule after doing away with bottles was basically this:

    7:00am Wake, then breakfast
9:00-11:00 Nap (sometimes not this long)
    12:00 Lunch
    1:00-3:00 Nap
    3:30 Snack
    5:00 Dinner
    6:00 Sippy of milk
    7:00 Bed

    930 snack - a couple of crackers
11 am - lunch- a variety of things including milk in a straw cup.
    12 or 1230 nap
    3pm snack - more crackers
    530 dinner.
    730 or 8 bedtime.

My babies are 14mo old and this has been our schedule since they turned one:

    6:30/7:00 Wake up
7:30- 7oz sippy of milk with a few crackers
9:30- Breakfast with water sippy (This used to be at 7:30 but they never seemed all that hungry in the morning- like their mommy  . They'd rather have the milk, so now I let daycare do the breakfast) ;) This also allows me to get a few extra winks in the morning. They drink their sippies in the pnp and I'm on the couch trying to wake up.
    10ish nap
12:00 Lunch with 7oz sippy of milk
3/3:30 Snack with sippy of water
6:00 Dinner with sippy of milk
    7:30 Bed
