I threw this in the crockpot:

    two cups frozen green beans
    two cups matchstick carrots
two cups shredded chicken (from a purchased rotisserie chicken)
one large potato, peeled and diced
two or three large handfuls of kale
32 oz. of chicken broth (I like the Pacific Foods free-range, which comes in a carton in the health food section)

any seasonings you like (I used a couple pinches of RealSalt, fresh ground pepper, minced garlic, crushed dried rosemary and onion powder)

I cooked on high until the potatoes got soft, and then simmered on low for another couple hours. Then, I pureed about a cup in the Magic Bullet -- and then thickened with a bit of baby rice cereal, because it was a bit too liquidy. My babies LOVED it.

Obviously it made a ton, so I froze it in one-cup batches in Ziploc bags -- just defrosted a bag tonight in hot water, and it was still great. I even ate some myself (before pureeing, and with a lot of parmesan and croutons added in, LOL).

I'm going to keep experimenting -- next time I'll try ground beef, plus maybe a bit of tomato sauce...

meant to write ... sounds like a great idea!

I tried the Stage 3 puree tonight for the first time with my girls ... turkey and veggies ... they ate it but it looked so gross to me that I don't think I will buy anymore! I like the thought of making my own dinner for them! Thanks for the tip!

Traci -- yeah, mine totally turn up their noses at the jarred stuff. I've made most of their food, but I also kept some jars on hand for crazy days. They used to eat it, but now they scoff at it. :icon_biggrin:

Sounds good, mine eat table food most of the time, sometime whole(chopped) and sometimes pureed. So much easier to eat real food. Great idea.
