Hi, I am almost 22 weeks with boys. I have had mid-wives for years. I have seen the MD's 3 times since my pregnancy this time with the twins. Other than that the mid-wives. I am trying to think back to when I had my daughter and how each visit I felt at home and informed. I have not felt this. The md's do ask me if I have questions but they don't provide information on their own. I don't know how much weight I should be gaining with the twins, or how my belly is measuring.

The first time we met was after an ultrasound due to bleeding. Did not think of any questions.
THe second time I was just happy to hear the heartbeats again.
The last time was after our 19wk ultrasound and all he did is measure my belly, he didn't even listen due to the fact I just had an ultrasound.

I just miss the homey feeling I got a the midwives

Sorry you're not having the best MD experience. I loved my ob, she was very informative. They're all different I guess. Do you have to see an MD every time- could you try to get in with one of the midwives, instead? My ob didn't listen for the heartbeats at all of my visits either because it was hard to tell which hb she was hearing because there was two. She always did an u/s though. Good luck!

Hi, No I cant see the Midwives any more because they consider me high risk with twins. I was trying to see a different MD so I could meet them all.

I really missed the more hands on midwives with the doctors I always felt like They were a bit busy to spend alot of time on my questions and with the twins one of the doctors I had to see scared me by telling me we would be lucky to get to 32 weeks. We had the twins at 37 weeks 4 days! I was considered high risk too and with the next pregnancy they said I had to see the doctors again as I had a c-section with the twins. Good luck and congratulations on your bubs!

Maybe you could express to your OB about your past experiences with the midwives & tell them the level of information you are expecting to hear from them?
I found that my OB was very informative & up front about everything and I asked A LOT of questions (I would come with a list to almost every appt!!).
Letting your OB know what your expectations are might help you feel more comfortable.
    Good luck!!
