This maybe to much info but no one seems to know, because alot of ppl i know dont have twins. When you have a C-section do you bleed right after like when you have natural birth to where you need to bring pads to the hosptial? We are packing our hospital bag now because we had our 30 week specialist appointment today and he told me my cervix shrunk ALOT more down to 14-15 and now im on dont get up bed rest.
My next question is how far does your cervix have to shrink before they start doing the shots, or you start dialating.. We were just thinking about this stuff tonight and were wondering what went on with everyone else?
were calling the dr tommorow to get more info but I thought id ask! :)

I dont know about the cervix thing, but you do bleed after a c-section, same as a vag birth.

The hospital will supply you with pads...yes, you do bleed comparable to a vaginal birth. The hospital I delivered in gave me these great mesh panty things...they were soooo comfortable and the pad fit fine. The hospital will have the industrial strengh pad, but make sure you have some for when you get home. Also, I would skip any fancy PJs...either bring a PJ top to wear afterwards and a robe, but don't use any PJ bottoms that you don't mind throwing away...trust me, they will get wrecked.

I don't know what to tell you about the shots.

    HTH and good luck.

PS - good idea to pack the hospital bag now...I went early and unexpectedly and had no bag. My DH showed up at the hospital with PRE-PREGNANCY JEANS for me to wear. I almost smacked him.

The hospital will have big, gigantic pads you can use. I had to use those; the bleeding is quite heavy at first. I then used large pads at home (I brought them in my hospital bag but never used them).

As for the cervix, you can start to dilate early, even when your cervix is not fully effaced (or shortened). For example, when I was down to 1.8cm, I was already starting to dilate. I also had my steroid shots at that time (I was 28 weeks). Are those the shots you are referring to?

I agree, the hospital provides great panties and pads! I continued to wear theirs even at home.
