Maybe they're on hunger strike?!

So in the past week... the boys have stopped eating more than a few bites of cheerios, oatmeal, waffles or toast. Grilled cheese sandwiches, baby food jars, pasta with cheese, pasta with sauce, tortellini, "pizza" muffins. One will eat peas, the other carrots, otherwise its snack foods or nothing. HELP!

Nope, y'all are NOT alone! My girls were underweight at their appointment last month and we have a follow-up on Monday. I'm very nervous about going because, I swear, their eating habits have gotten worse this past month. :(

I can't wait to go in and be told everything we're doing wrong. /sarcasm

It is stressful when they don't eat. I think the doctors' obsession with weights is incredibly difficult and it causes us so much anxiety. My husband is 6'3", 185lb. I'm very petite. His whole family is built like him and my whole family is very small. If we get read the riot act again I may just call in the whole extended family for the next appointment and have them stand in front of the doctor as evidence that we are just small people!

Well, I have noticed that shortly after a growth spurt, mine sometimes sort of lose their appetite. Right before one, they're chowing down all the time, but then after the big push to grow it's like they sort of slow way down for a bit food-wise. Could that be part of it? Also, sometimes kids just get picky. If your two are in all other ways healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. But I also wouldn't just feed them snack food out of desperation. Give them the option to eat like normal and if they don't, they don't. Eventually they'll get hungry and eat.

Of my 6, that's worked for all but 1 of mine. Sabrina (one of my twins) is very tiny and from the very beginning has just not cared to eat much. I didn't have the option of letting her get hungry, because she just never would. Even as a newborn, she'd latch and just stare at me like she didn't care. When she was 4 she was finally diagnosed as failure to thrive. She's 15 lbs smaller (was 18 until recently), 4 inches and 3 shoe sizes smaller than her average-sized twin sister. Lots of Dr's visits and tests and other pediasure and other visits later we've found a few things that work and a few answers and she's putting on a little weight so that while she's still not on the charts for height or weight, she's at least in a somewhat healthy height-weight ratio.

Sorry, that wasn't exactly an answer to your question, just to say that barring extreme circumstances, they'll probably come around.
