My friend just got one of these for her 9 month old baby. The box says it can hold up to 35lbs. Does anyone still use these or something similiar and how effective are they? I don't plan on using it all the time.. maybe only if I'm out with one baby and don't feel the need to drag the stroller out. TIA!

Still got mine but haven't used it in a long time - I bought it when they were around 5/6 months for travelling and it did help. Found it a bit fiddly to get them into the position that felt secure and comfy but did like it. I haven't tried using it since then really as have had no need. But I have seen a mum and a dad on separate occasions carrying a larger toddler in them and they looked comfy/secure.

Oh yeah. I have one. I got one when my oldest was about 9 months and wanted to be held all the time. What a life saver. We keep ours in the van and use it often with the twins. That way, one can be in the sling, and I still have my hands free to push the stroller and corral the other 2 kids. I highly recommend slings. I have a ring sling, although it isn't the same "brand' as the one your friend got. Let me know if you have any questions!!

I had one of these, I used it until about 9 months to carry a baby, but continued to use it after that to strap a baby into a shopping cart, attach to a chair if we were somewhere where no high chair was available, and as a sort of leash/walking helper when they were still unsteady on their feet. The Maya ones come with a video that shows you tons of ways to use it.

I bought a Scootababy carrier a few months ago. It was pricey (~$100) and I'm not sure it's been worth the money. I mean, I really like it, but it's hard to justify the $100!

It's super comfortable and easy to use. My twins are small for their age (23 and 19 lbs) though. I thought it would be helpful to use when going out with them alone. I could put one in the Scootababy and the other in the umbrella stroller for doctor's visits, etc. I've not had the chance to use it that way, but I do use it around the house a lot. Aidan wakes up super grumpy from his nap and only wants to be held. I can put him in the carrier and not break my back holding him for an hour. I've also used it when one or the other has been really clingy. I can put the clingy one in the carrier and go about my day. I have my hands free to fill up sippy cups, get a snack ready, read a book to them, turn on a video, etc.

Here is info on the Scootababy. http://www.scootababy.com/
