Maxine & Felix arrived (38w2d)

Monday 11/27 we arrived at the hospital at 4 am for my induction at 4.30 am. At 6.00 am they had the Pitocin running and at 7.30 am I was 5 1/2 cm (4 1/2 when I came in that morning)and they broke Baby A's water. At 8.00 am I got the epidural and then things went crazy. I felt horrible, I was vomitting and very light headed and I got something for the nausea that helped a great deal. A little before 10 am I was already 9 cm and they wheeled me to the OR. They had to turn the Pitocin off because I was contracting so frequently by myself.

I started pushing around 10.15 am and at 10.32 am my baby Girl, Maxine, entered this world after just 5 pushes. Baby B was still breech, so he was born by breech extraction 4 minutes later at 10.36 am. His name is Felix.

Maxine weighed 7 pounds 11 oz and measured 20 inches. Felix weighed 7 pounds 10 oz and measured 20 inches as well. So very very large twins!

Maxine scored 9/9 and Felix 5/9 most likely because of the extraction, but he was fine soon after, though they did monitor his blood sugar for 24 hours but he's fine now.

They're both doing fine, and we came home this afternoon.

Congratulations!! I'm glad everything turned out great! Those are some great birth weights! Try and get som rest when you can & take care of yourself! Can't wait to see pictures!

You are Superwoman! Those weights are fantastic - and it sounds like they are doing just great! I'm sorry you had to go through the nausea and such - but I'm sure you look at those two babies and the pain is the last thing you are thinking about!

Congratulations! I am also from Chicago and delivered at Northwestern 38 weeks and 2 days!!! It looks like we may have had the same amazing view from our rooms!!!
