I had no idea where to post this so just decided here was the best place since y'all have babies this age. We used a Graco duoglider with our 1st set of twins but never used a stroller again after that. I switched to baby wearing and loved it! We have a sleepywrap for the 1st few months and then an Ergo for when they got to about 4 months of age. I know they have a newborn insert for the Ergo but I just always preferred the ease and comfort or the sleepywrap for little babies. The sleepwrap can hold newborn twins up to 8 wks but after that they're just too big. I really don't want to go back to the bulky, cumbersome stroller with twins again...hauling it, using it, getting it in and out of places with the rest of our crew.....so have been searching the world over for babywearing solutions for twins. And I found the MaxiMom carrier. Just curious as to whether anybody's used it, the comfort of it, if it strains the back or shoulders and the ease of getting them in/out. I really like that you can choose how to wear them...one in front/one in back or both in front and they can face in or out. I know you can wear twins using 2 Ergo's but somehow I can't imagine trying to get a 4 mo old on and off my back with them being that little. And 2 Ergo's can definitely not be worn in the front but I do love how comfortable it is. We have done zoo days and all day outings with me wearing babies and it's never strained back or shoulders.

So, anybody have any experience with the MaxiMom?

That is a tough one.....I bought it too, because I loved carrying my singleton in the Bjorn. I bought mine used from a woman who only used hers twice....I used mine three times as a double. My boys are now 9 months. I would have used it more, but it dug into my neck and shoulders. I tried it a few different ways and it was never comfortable. I am in shape so the weight of the boys was not the issue. I have a sling that I put my 30lb 2-1/2 year old.
I do use the maximom as a single, while my husband uses the Bjorn.....the bjorn is much more comfortable.
I guess what I am saying is I would not recommend buying it new....if you can find a used one perhaps you might want to try it.....but it would not be worth the money new in my opinion.
On another note, I have seen moms use double slings!

    Good luck!

We have a maximom but only used it a couple of times for short periods because my twins have never really gotten into being worn. Plus, my twins have had a pretty big weight difference since about 3 months old (5 lbs back then, 10 lbs difference since about 9 months old). It seemed to work pretty well otherwise, though and was fairly easy to use. If you decide you want to try it, I would be happy to sell mine. We bought it new and, like I said, only used in 2 or 3 times at most. I still have the instructions pamphlet too. You can PM me if interested. I would be happy to sell it for $40 including shipping.

Sorry I can't give you a more detailed review, though.

DH wanted to carry them... and never did together. It was hard to manage both at the same time. Instead, I sling 1 and use an umbrella stroller for the other. It's not too bad. I would totally try the Moby Wrap, if I could do it again, though.

I would totally buy it used from dblyblessed for $40 if I were you - what a great deal! I paid way more for mine, which was also used. I used mine a ton at the beginning, both on front, mostly facing in so they could breastfeed & sleep on me while I moved around. I did find though, that it was pretty impossible to get anything done (like chores around the house) since it was pretty much impossible to reach around them. I also wore it shopping a few times, but had the same problem...difficult to reach and to lean or crouch down. I did love it though because I could wear it and both girls could nurse. I used it regularly until the girls were about 4months old. I also have a moby wrap and did use it a few times, but not as much as I would have liked. I tried with them both in as newborns but never really got the hang of it, so I usually would just wear one. When they were bigger, I would mostly wear one in the Moby or an eskimo-type wrap and have the other in an umbrella stroller. Now they are a year and I haven't worn them in a while...I should get out my maximom and try it again with one on front and the other on the back.

I def would by it used for $40 just to have the options it offers available to me. You'll be able to resell for sure.

Was gone all day yesterday so just now checking in. I need to talk to dh about buying it but it sounds good and I'd really like to try it out. I actually preferred the sleepywrap over the Moby by quite a bit. It seemed more stretchable, easy to fit them into and get on and off. It has ended up being my all time favorite. But, I know that it's just going to be so short term for wearing both babies.

I'll get back with you definitely later in the day and let you know. I'd really like to buy it and see what works for us. Thanks so much! I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from him!
