    Quick question....

When converting your children into twin beds, would you feel better "buying" them brand new twin mattresses or "taking" one from a relative who said it wasn't used that long?

    Thanks

I bought new. No one offered me used mattresses but had they I still would have bought them new. But that's just me.

We have one new, and one given to us. Actually the one that was given to us is a better quality than the one we bought. It was bought to be in a guest room, and then never used, and made its way to us. As long as the mattress is in good shape, I would take it.

BTW, my guest bed is my parents old bed. The boxspring is over 40 years old, and the mattress over 20, and it isn't bad for a bed that is used only once in a while.

If the mattress was in good shape, I would take it. Our crib mattresses were used and they worked great!

Sam's club has your basic twin mattress for only $89. Not a bad price. We paid $99 at a mattress store. And they are just a basic starter mattress; nothing fancy.
