Hi again! So, I'm having some back trouble...just wondered if any of you found maternity support belts to be helpful at all or just a waste of money. If they were helpful, which kind did you get? Thanks so much ladies!

I recently dug mine out of the closet because I was on my feet a lot preparing Christmas Eve dinner (I had received it as a hand-me-down in my first pregnancy). My lower back had been bothering me quite a bit, and the belt really helped. The one I have is from Motherhood.

I also started seeing a chiropractor a few weeks ago and that has been very helpful too.

i have heard a lot about the Belly Bra. you can find them online at target. i'm going with that one when i get to that point that i need it. it is a bra that has plenty of material to cover your belly and it takes the pressure off of your lower belly and lower back. i hope it works for me. i always had back labor---uhg.
    lots of love!

Mine doesn't show if I wear a top long enough to cover it. I wear it on my sacrum/hips in the back and down under my belly in the front, so sometimes my shirt doesn't cover the front. It's small enough and my belly is big enough that it isn't very noticable.

I ordered one on Christmas Eve, but it hasn't arrived yet. My back is killing me also. Hopefully it will help! From what I've read on this chatboard, the belts at Motherhood aren't wide enough to really offer support so I ordered one from an online site.

I do find that mine is helpful. I dug it out the other day when I was in a lot of pain and it helped to alleviate some of the pain.

I had gotten one from Motherhood for my last pregnancy, but I found it to be really uncomfortable. It seems like a wider one might be better.

    Hi there,

I used a prenatal cradle for the last few months of my pregnancy. It really helped when I had something to do that had me standing for a longer period of time. It really didn't shift the weight too awful much, but it did do so just enough to provide some relief.

As for back pain, I visited the chiropractor for my entire pregnancy (about every 2-3 weeks and weekly at the end) and it was a godsend. I never had any real back pain during a nearly 38 week pregnancy.

    Good luck.
