Last night I went to Motherhood Maternity and bought this smock top. Are you supposed to wear a bra with this? This isn't something that I would normally wear but it's so comfy I had to get it. FYI - I don't have a strapless to wear.

    Thanks fashionistas!!! :)

I think it all depends on you -- i would have to find a way to wear a bra (though i don't know how with the spagetti straps) b/c the girls are large, and not so perky...but if you are smaller, or still have nice lift - i don't see any reason you couldn't go bra-less. nice top BTW = very cute!

Depends on the elastic in the top, if it's enough to hold you up, than no bra, if not, then wear one. Don't worry too much if the straps show, it's not that big a deal anymore.

I personally would...just for support, ya know? You can buy those bras that have the clear straps OR try one of their "support" tank tops underneath. But, totally up to you. I'm "gifted" up top, so I would prefer one. And so would the rest of the general public.

    Very cute, though!

Personally I wouldn't wear one, but you are talking to the girl whose boobs DO NOT grow through pregnancy or breastfeeding! Do whatever you are comfortable with. Perfectly acceptable to go without if you are comfortable with it.

I bought that, only in dress form. Considering, I have not bought any new good bras...wearing sports bras for as long as I can.....prePG, I was a medium C, now probably a D cup, and I do not wear a bra with the dress. The elastic does a good job of squishing the girls. The fabric on mine does irritate the nipples(sorry TMI) But, I still wear it. It is very comfortable! Try it out at your house first before you go out in it. That's what I did.

I bought a strapless smocking top just before I found out i was pregnant and I wore it till about 26 weeks without a bra. The elastics were good and very supportive. I was a 10C pre-preg. Stopped wearing them as it started to get cold but more thanks to the girls being squeashed in there and started to look less like boobs and more like chunks of steak!!

I loved the freedom it gave my tummy...and hubby always said I looked cute in them!! Can't wait till summer comes back to this side of the planet!!

Well, I wore my smock top yesterday without a bra. It actually was really comfortable but I don't think I looked bad. I didn't get any odd stares or anything so I guess until I feel uncomfortable that way I'll wear it by itself. The bottom is really comfortable too. I would definitely recommend this top.

i was gonna buy one of those and wear a regular tank under it (i think they're selling ribbed maternity tanks there now, too), so that way you can wear a bra and it won't be seen.

I tried this on too, but couldn't get it due to the "headlights" effect. Since then I've discovered the Lillypad silicone nipple covers. They would work if the smock top was irritating to this sensative area.

My friend wears them with a tank and bra underneath.
