I had an appt today and asked the Dr. about the cramps I have been getting just from normal walking or even getting up off the couch. I know I have no stomach muscles left and I had a feeling that the problem was having no support in my stomach at all.

She said a maternity belt would help.

I am wondering if anyonf ever used a maternity belt for this reason and had any luck. I just need the feeling of support I feel like my uterus is going to on the floor.

    Thanks

I used one for both pregnancies. It really helped me with having little to no lower back pain. It made me feel like everything was just all that more :less hanging out" feeling. I passed mine onto a friend, and she swore by it too.

I used one and loved it. It took a lot of pressure off of my lower back. At the end of my pregnancy I couldn't stand to go without it.

I loved my maternity belt! We found out we were having twins just shy of 20 weeks and a few days before going to Europe and my OB insisted I would want to take a maternity belt with me. I wasn't measuring big or really showing much then but a week into the trip, my belly had a serious growth spurt and I started getting back pain. The belt really helped aleviate it and I was so glad I listened to the OB and took one along. I also worked until 33 weeks as a teacher and had to "pace" the classroom to monitor students and the belt made a big difference in whether I had back pain or not-forgot it one morning after washing it and paid for it all day.

Glad it works for back pain but is it working to hold eveything in in the front? I didnt have backpain with the boys and although it may happen this time around right now Im trying to hold everything in the front up and in.

Theres just no support in my stomach for my uterus.

I wore on with the twins and with this one, it did support me in the front and took that pain off my pubic bone...as I got bigger though I felt uncomfortable to sit with it on or when the baby was moving it seemed to constricting. Worth the investment though, they are only like $15 or so.

A couple weeks ago my doc had me start wearing one(bought it with the boys but never wore it) because I felt like I'd done about a million sit ups in my lower abs. He just said that those muscles were being stretched and since they were a little weaker than the first time around I was noticing it more. The belt has definitely helped me with my lower abdominal area, so I say give it a go.
